  • Publication number: 20230258415
Abstract: Disclosed are systems and techniques for increasing heat transfer from a substrate to a working fluid. The systems may include a substrate comprising a plurality of grooves or cavities on at least one external surface. The system may also include an infusing liquid filling at least a majority of the plurality of grooves. The system may also include a working fluid configured to flow parallel to the external surface.

  • Publication number: 20220412307
Abstract: Enabling control of wind turbines is provided. The method comprises receiving power production signals from wind turbines comprising a wind farm and estimating wake travel times from upstream wind turbines to downstream turbines. Correlations of the power production signals are calculated among all pairs of wind turbines in the wind farm. Wind turbines with a power production correlation above a specified threshold at an expected time are considered to have wake interaction. A probability density function of northing directions is calculated for the wind turbine pairs with wake interaction. A determination is made whether the probability density function has a dominant direction. Responsive to the probability density function having a dominant direction, the wind turbine pairs with wake interaction are identified as turbine clusters. A control strategy is applied to each turbine cluster as an operational unit to optimize power production of the wind farm.

  • Patent number: 10152557
Abstract: Systems and methods offer an efficient approach to computing similarity rankings in bipartite graphs. An example system includes at least one processor and memory storing a bipartite graph having a first set and a second set of nodes, with nodes in the first set being connected to nodes in the second set by edges. The memory also stores instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the system to assign each node in the second set to one of a plurality of categories and, for each of the plurality of categories, generate a subgraph. The subgraph comprises of a subset of nodes in the first set and edges linking the nodes in the subset, where the nodes in the subset are selected based on connection to a node in the second set that is assigned to the category. The system uses the subgraph to respond to queries.

  • Patent number: 9760619
Abstract: The disclosure includes a system and method for generating weighted clustering coefficients for a social network graph. The system includes a processor and a memory storing instructions that when executed cause the system to: receive social graph data associated with a social network, the social graph data including nodes, edges that connect the nodes and weights associated with the edges in a social graph, determine a first probability of existence of an edge in the social graph based on the weights, determine a second probability that a first node forms a triangle with two neighbor nodes, and compute a weighted clustering coefficient for the first node based on the first and second probabilities.

  • Patent number: 6049948
Abstract: A new handle for carrying a bag for distributing the weight of the contents of the bag across the hand of a user. The inventive device includes a saddle member that has a top, a bottom, a pair of end edges, and a pair of side edges that extend between the end edges. A pair of sides upwardly extend from the side edges of the saddle member to form a bag receiving channel between them such that a carrying loop of a bag, or a plurality of carrying loops of one or several bags, rests on the top of the saddle member between the sides of the saddle member. A cover member covers the saddle member and is removably coupleable to the saddle member. The cover member has first and second ends, upper and lower surfaces extending between the first and second ends, and a pair of opposite sidewalls that downwardly extend from the lower surface of the cover member.
