  • Publication number: 20230273314
Abstract: In some implementations, a light detection and ranging (LIDAR) system may generate a transmission signal by modulating a signal with a first signal and a second signal. The signal may be modulated with the first signal using a first combination of polarization and phase and with the second signal using a second combination of polarization and phase. The LIDAR system may transmit the transmission signal and receive a reception signal that is based on a reflection of the transmission signal from an object. The LIDAR system may mix the reception signal with the oscillator laser signal to generate a first detection signal associated with the first signal and a second detection signal associated with the second signal, and may determine a first phase shift of the first signal based on the first detection signal and a second phase shift of the second signal based on the second detection signal.

  • Publication number: 20220247499
Abstract: An optical receiver includes an optical amplifier that is optically connected to a local oscillator (LO) and a plurality of optical hybrid mixers of the optical receiver and that is electrically connected to a controller. The optical amplifier is configured to receive an optical LO signal from the LO, receive a voltage value associated with an optical input signal of the optical receiver, control a power of the optical LO signal based on the voltage value, and provide, after adjusting the power of the optical LO signal, the optical LO signal to the plurality of optical hybrid mixers. The controller, is configured to determine the voltage value associated with the optical input signal and cause the voltage value to be provided to the optical amplifier.

  • Patent number: 9490908
Abstract: The invention inter alia relates to a method of receiving an optical-duo-binary, ODB, signal (S), which has a predefined ODB-transmission bit-rate (B), using a photoreceiver, said method comprising the step of filtering the ODB signal using a filter (10) which provides a frequency peak in the photoreceiver's frequency response located in the spectral range between 30% and 70% of the predefined ODB-transmission bit-rate.

  • Patent number: 4799224
Abstract: The invention relates to a driver for a semiconductor laser which makes it possible to obtain a high switching rate as well as bias and modulation current control. These objects are achieved with an asymmetric mirror current generator and current variation means using one transistor only.
