  • Patent number: 9496699
Abstract: An adapter for a recess can. The adapter includes a hangar bar having a first section slidably connected to a second section. The hangar bar has a first end mount on a first end and a second end mount on a second opposite end of the hangar bar. The adapter also includes a clamping mechanism sized and shaped to fit within a slot of the hangar bar. The clamping mechanism holds the first section stationary in relationship to the second section. The adapter also includes an adapter bracket attachable to the hangar bar. The end mounts are attached to a wall of the recess can and a fixture bracket is attached to the adapter bracket for supporting a fixture.

  • Publication number: 20130319719
Abstract: An adapter for a recess can. The adapter includes a planar surface having two plate extensions extending perpendicular from the planar surface. The plate extensions are sized to fit flush against a wall of a recess can. In addition, the planar surface is sized to fit over an interior of the recess can and includes a central opening. The planar surface is configured for attaching to the wall of the recess can by inserting screws through the first and second plates and the wall of the recess can.

  • Publication number: 20090296387
Abstract: A light engine is provided including a thermally conductive housing including a generally cylindrical wall defining a cavity, the cylindrical wall includes an inner surface and an outer surface, a plurality of ducted passageways being axially disposed on the outer surface, a light module including at least one light emitting diode (LED) for producing visible light, the light module coupled to a first end of the housing, wherein heat generated by the at least one LED is conducted to the housing, and a current driver circuit arranged on a substrate, the substrate configured to be disposed in the cavity of the housing and electrically coupled to the light module for providing current to the at least one LED. The ducted passageways aid in convective heat dissipation through a “chimney” type of affect.

  • Patent number: 6676281
Abstract: A rail lighting system includes an adapter having contact members with elongated portions. A body having an opening for a rail receives the contacts such that the elongated portions extend adjacent the rail. A wedge includes members that engage the contacts to urge the elongated portions toward the rail. The wedge is secured to a cap that threadedly engages the body. The rail includes at least one conductor in opposite end portions of the rail with respect to its depth. The conductors of the rail may include a single conductor or, alternatively conductors on opposite sides of the rail. A lighting fixture spring clip includes sets of opposite tangs including a first set having V-shaped end portions to engage a notched lamp base and a second set having curved end portions for engaging an enclosure barrier.
