    Abstract: An electrically insulating composition especially adapted for insulating terminations or splices of oil-impregnated cables comprises an electrically insulating organic liquid and a reactive thickening agent. Initially the composition is a liquid having a low viscosity permitting it to be conveniently poured into place in a termination housing or splice casing. After reaction of the thickening agent, the composition thickens to prevent undesired drainage of the composition.
