Publication number: 20240025211Abstract: An “all season” tyre (1) for cars and/or light transport vehicles is described, having a tread band (8) provided with a plurality of longitudinal channels and a plurality of grooves (6, 7, 11, 12, 13) and sipes (21, 22, 23, 24, 25) having a substantially transverse course, regularly arranged in the central ribs formed by the longitudinal channels and in the shoulder regions (L2, L3) over the whole tread band (8). The tread band (8) also has transverse notches resulting from joining a groove and a sipe having a transverse course, arranged consecutively to each other, and seamlessly extending substantially over the whole portion of the tyre containing them, i.e., the shoulder regions (L2, L3) or some of the central ribs (9, 10).Type: ApplicationFiled: December 10, 2021Publication date: January 25, 2024Applicant: Pirelli Tyre S.p.A.Inventors: Diego Ettore SPEZIARI, Roberto BOLZONI, Stefano MONTESELLO, Giovanni CASAROTTO

Patent number: 11161374Abstract: A car tyre having a tread that extends in axial direction for a width the tread including a central portion arranged across an equatorial plane, and two lateral portions opposed with respect to the central portion. The central portion is separated from the lateral portions of the tread by two circumferential grooves. The circumferential grooves have a width greater than about 6 mm. The central portion extends in axial direction for a width less than 20% of the width of the tread and includes a plurality of first sipes. Each lateral portion has a width greater than 30% of the width of the tread, and each lateral portion includes, furthermore, a plurality of transversal grooves. The transversal grooves of a lateral portion include at least a first inclined length that extends from a zone proximal to the respective circumferential grooves, moving away from the equatorial plane. The first inclined length has an inclination ??60° with respect to equatorial plane. Each lateral portion includes a plurality of sipes.Type: GrantFiled: October 24, 2019Date of Patent: November 2, 2021Assignee: PIRELLI TYRE S.p.A.Inventors: Alessandro Ascanelli, Roberto Bolzoni, Anna Paola Fioravanti, Stefano Montesello

Publication number: 20210107318Abstract: Tyre (1) for vehicle wheels comprises a tread band (2) on which there are formed—a pair of shoulder regions (7, 8) that are axially opposite one another;—at least a first circumferential rib (12) interposed between said pair of shoulder regions and delimited by a first pair of circumferential grooves (10, 11);—a plurality of first blind recesses (20), which are formed in said first circumferential rib (12) and have a first longitudinal extension, and—a plurality of second blind recesses (30), which are formed in said first circumferential rib (12) and have a second longitudinal extension that is smaller than said first longitudinal extension,—at least a second circumferential rib (15) interposed between said pair of shoulder regions and delimited by a second pair of circumferential grooves (13, 14), and;—a plurality of through-recesses (40), which are formed in said second circumferential rib (15) and extend between the grooves of said second pair of circumferential grooves.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 9, 2018Publication date: April 15, 2021Applicant: Pirelli Tyre S.p.A.Inventors: Diego Ettore SPEZIARI, Stefano MONTESELLO, Vito BELLO

Publication number: 20200317004Abstract: A tyre with a tread band having a plurality of blocks. The blocks include three-dimensional sipes extending in a direction incident to an advance direction of the tyre. Each sipe separates a block into a first block portion having a first surface facing the advance direction, and into a second block portion having a second surface facing the direction counter to the advance direction. Male/female couplings are provided between the first and the second block portions, the couplings formed by protuberances on the first surface and extending towards the second block portion, and by recesses on the second surface and extending away from the first block portion. The protuberances formed on the first surface have an apex that is spaced apart from the tread surface by no more than 40% of the depth of the three-dimensional sipe, measured at the apex.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 6, 2017Publication date: October 8, 2020Inventors: Diego SPEZIARI, Vito BELLO, Stefano MONTESELLO
