  • Patent number: 7850762
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for reducing emissions due to gaseous decomposition products of an electrolyte of electrochemical storage devices in a motor vehicle, preferably double-layer capacitors with organic solvents as the electrolyte. According to this invention, the gaseous decomposition products are sent to an activated carbon filter and/or a molecular sieve for deposition of at least a portion of the decomposition products and/or a chemically reactive material and/or a catalytically active material for conversion of at least a portion of the decomposition products. In addition, devices for implementing the inventive method are described.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 31, 2006
Date of Patent: December 14, 2010
    Assignee: Bayerische Motoren Werke Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventors: Steffen Lutz, Sebastian Scharner
  • Patent number: 7464097
Abstract: Techniques are provided to manage the integrity of data stored in two or more data management systems by detecting inconsistencies between the data management systems. The techniques identify missing records in one or more data management systems by comparing the records in the data management systems. A filter condition is used to identify the records to be compared. For records that exist in two or more data management systems, the techniques identify records that are not identical in the data management systems. A user checkpoint is provided between the identification of missing records and the identification of records that are not identical. The detected inconsistencies also may be corrected.

    Assignee: SAP AG
Inventors: Martina Goetz, Michael Schmitt, Steffen Lutz
  • Patent number: 7363900
Abstract: In a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine for vehicles, having a plurality of air ducts leading to the cylinders and an associated engine control device situated in a housing, the air ducts are combined into a single unit, on the exterior of which the engine control device housing is situated on its lower part which forms the underside, and the lower part of the engine control device housing simultaneously forms a part of the air ducts.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 28, 2006
Date of Patent: April 29, 2008
    Assignee: Bayerische Motoren Werke Aktiengesellschaft

  • Patent number: 6414402
Abstract: A system for monitoring a starter unit in a motor vehicle is provided. The vehicle is equipped with an electrical machine serving as both a starter and a generator, an inverter for converting the current generated or required in the electrical machine, and a control unit for controlling the operation of the unit consisting of the electrical machine and the inverter as a function of input signals. The control unit is capable of being activated at intervals even when the vehicle is not operating. An additional control function is provided to activate or deactivate the inverter as a function of vehicle operating information. As a result, unintentional movement of the vehicle is prevented during automatically occurring activation periods of the control system.

  • Patent number: 6286470
Abstract: A process and apparatus for starting an internal-combustion engine of a vehicle is provided, having a starting device for starting the internal-combustion engine in which the rotational starting speed can be controlled or automatically controlled. For minimizing starting energy, shortening the starting time, increasing the starting safety and reducing the emissions during the start, the rotational speed generated by the starting device is adjusted to a defined maximal rotational starting speed.
