  • Publication number: 20070214786
Abstract: In an internal combustion engine with a crankshaft and an exhaust gas duct including an exhaust gas power turbine which is coupled to the crankshaft via a variable transmission, a control unit is provided for controlling the transmission ratio of the variable transmission such that the speed of the turbine is adapted to the flow speed of the exhaust gas through the turbine in such a way that the turbine is always operated in an optimal efficiency range.

  • Publication number: 20020193904
Abstract: In a test weaving run on a test loom, a first set of article-specific adjustment data is determined for the optimal adjustment of loom components for weaving a particular woven article. First and second sets of machine-specific data characterizing various machine parameters of the test loom and of a different production loom, respectively, are provided to a computer, which compares these two sets of machine-specific data. Based on the differences therebetween, the computer modifies the first set of article-specific adjustment data determined on the test loom, to prepare a modified second set of article-specific adjustment data suitable for optimally adjusting the production loom for weaving the particular article. From that data, control commands are prepared and provided to actuators of the production loom for automatically adjusting the components thereof to the optimal positions for weaving the article.

  • Patent number: 6263922
Abstract: A clamping holder for flexible lines, particularly current-carrying lines, has a line holder with at least one device for fixing a line and a device clamping the line in the device. The device and the line holder have at least one mutually aligned passage, respectively. A known type of elastic, longitudinally extendible tension device is pulled into the passages. The tension device has a neck-type cross-sectional contraction and connects the line holder with the device in a ventable manner.

  • Patent number: 6119733
Abstract: A weft thread clamp for a weft thread presenting lever is positively actuated to selectively open or close the clamp and thereby release or hold the weft thread respectively. To achieve this, a second clamp element is movable or deflectable relative to a first clamp element of the clamp. The movable second clamp element may be directly embodied as an actuator, or may be driven by an actuating motion provided by an actuator located remotely from the clamp on the lever. In the latter case, a motion transmission arrangement such as a sheathed push-pull cable or a rod linkage operatively connects the actuator to the movable second clamp element. The actuator may be a piezoelectric, electromagnetic, hybrid pneumatic-electric, or hybrid hydraulic-electric device, or an electric motor. The loom control unit is connected to the actuator for providing control signals thereto.

  • Patent number: 6026865
Abstract: A controlled weft thread presenting and clamping arrangement minimizes weft thread waste and ensures proper tensioning of the weft thread during its presentation to the insertion gripper, in a gripper loom for weaving with plural different weft threads. The arrangement includes a control shaft (13) that has a drive key (14) protruding therefrom in a reference plane (7), and that is rotatably supported on a support bracket (10, 11, 12), which may be mounted on the loom. Weft thread presenting levers (15) each carrying a respective clamp (16) are movably arranged on the shaft (13), which passes through a hole in each of the presenting levers (15). A translational drive (22) acts on a presenting lever support (17) to translationally move all of the presenting levers (15) in unison together axially along the shaft (13) until a selected lever (15) is positioned in the reference plane (7), with the lever's drive groove 15B engaged on the drive key (14) of the shaft (13).

  • Patent number: 5524676
Abstract: A high proportion of fly lint and dust is intercepted inside a loom before settling, by a suction device (17, 18) positioned inside the loom below the rear shed and the heald frames so that air from a blower head (3) movably mounted (at 4) above the loom must pass through the rear shed and between the heald frames. The suction device has a plurality of suction boxes (18) pivotally interlinked with each other to form a suction channel chain (17) which is flexible so that the position of the suction channel chain (17) can be adapted to the space available inside the loom for an effective interception of fly lint and dust. One section of the suction channel chain extends approximately horizontally parallel to and below the rear shed, while another suction channel chain section extends approximately vertically and approximately parallel to the heald frames.

  • Patent number: 5303747
Abstract: A gripper head travelling through a shed in a weaving loom, has a longitudinal lateral guide surface (14A, 17A) along its gripper head body which is temporarily contacted by guide lever fingers in those positions of the head where its proper guidance is most critical, e.g. at the time of the weft transfer. The guide lever fingers are so driven by a drive mechanism that these fingers are withdrawn from the loom shed just as soon as the weft transfer is completed.

  • Patent number: 4558722
Abstract: In a shuttleless weaving machine wherein the filling yarn is inserted from both sides of the shed by means of gripper systems provided with filling yarn clamping devices and advanced into and then retracted from the shed. The filling yarn is transferred from one gripper system to the other by a controlled opening and closing of the clamping devices. For this purpose, a guide rod mounted in a straight guide on the reed stay and displaceable toward the shed is provided, which is equipped at its end with a control finger. The control finger passes through the warp yarns of the shed and actuates the clamping device in the shed. The control motion is transmitted through a cam follower roller mounted on a rocker lever hinged to a coupling link which in turn is pivoted or hinged to the guide rod. The control finger is entirely pulled downwardly out of the shed for the reed beat-up. The masses which must be accelerated together with the reed are low and control finger vibrations are eliminated.

  • Patent number: 4553571
Abstract: In a shuttleless weaving machine wherein the filling yarn is inserted into the shed from both sides by gripper systems provided with clamping devices and advanced into and then retracted from the shed, the filling yarn is transferred by a controlled opening and closing of the clamping devices from one gripper system to the other. An articulated link drive including a second rocker arm pivotally supported at a fixed point in the machine is provided for this purpose. The articulated link drive is driven by a cam and cam follower on a first rocker arm connected to the link drive by a coupling link. One link of the articulated link drive has an extension which controls the clamping devices in the shed. The dimensions of the articulated link drive are such that the coupling curve described by the control extension during the time of the reed beat-up leads to a non-interfering rest position underneath the path of the batten or sley.
