  • Patent number: 8941351
Abstract: An adjusting device for rotor blades of a wind power plant is disclosed. An AC motor is provided for adjusting the angle setting of the rotor blades. An input serves for receiving an input alternating current. A frequency converter is provided for generating a second alternating current having a second frequency, wherein the second alternating current drives the AC motor. Additionally, a DC voltage source and an inverter are provided for converting the voltage provided by the DC voltage source into an alternating current for the AC motor. The inverter is thereby separated from the frequency inverter.

  • Publication number: 20130192456
Abstract: A pneumatic brake servo for motor vehicles having a servo housing, the interior of which is divided into at least one working chamber and at least one vacuum chamber by at least one axially movable wall which can be loaded with a pneumatic differential pressure, having a control valve which controls the differential pressure and is arranged in a control housing for connecting the working chamber to the vacuum chamber or to atmosphere. The movable wall includes a diaphragm plate and a rolling diaphragm, and the working chamber is sealed by a sealing ring which bears against the control housing and which is clamped in the radial direction in relation to a longitudinal axis of the brake servo. An actively loaded area of the movable wall is reduced by division of the working chamber into a prechamber and a main chamber to avoid stick/slip effects and reduce disruptive noises.

  • Publication number: 20130110120
Abstract: An orthopedic kit includes a hollow cannula having a distal end including spiral thread for engaging a bone, an elongated probe extending through the hollow cannula, and a metering device for moving the probe such that a distal end of the probe is moved away from a proximal end of the hollow cannula to into the bone to form a channel in the bone whereby the metering device measures a force applied by the distal end of the probe and thus the mechanical strengh of the bone. A cement injector also forms part of the kit which passes though the hollow canula beyond the distal end of the cannula into the channel to inject cement into the surrounding bone structure. A pedicle screw may also form part of the kit to be placed in the channel before the cement is cured.

  • Patent number: 8297178
Abstract: A servobrake for motor vehicles including a control valve which can be actuated by an electromagnet independently of an actuating rod which displaces a valve piston, which electromagnet actuates a third seal seat which makes possible ventilation of a working chamber. The third seal seat is formed on a sleeve which cooperates with the electromagnet, an annular element being provided which is arranged displaceably with respect to the third seal seat and which bears against the sleeve via an interposed elastic or compressible element. The annular element has means for guiding an air flow produced during normal braking in the direction of the working chamber.

  • Patent number: 7566981
Abstract: An actuating drive for a rotor blade in a wind power installation is provided with an electric motor and a frequency converter which has a rectifier that is to be fed from a power supply system, a link connected to the rectifier, and a d.c.-to-a.c. inverter for feeding the motor, the link carrying a specified nominal operating voltage in a network-fed normal operation of the frequency converter. Furthermore, an auxiliary energy supply device is provided that is connected to the link. The auxiliary energy supply device includes and energy store which makes available a support voltage that amounts to less than 80% of the nominal operating voltage of the link. A diode is connected between the energy store and the link, and is arranged, with regard to its forward direction, in such a way that it feeds a support voltage from the energy store into the link if the link voltage falls below the support voltage.

  • Patent number: 5456881
Abstract: Organic and/or inorganic substances and water are thermally separated from contaminated materials, solid aggregates, the contaminated material is pretreated and is subsequently heated in a directly or indirectly heated furnace, which includes a rotary kiln, a fluidized bed furnace or a floating zone reactor, and during the heating the material is treated with recycled hot gases or recycled hot steam and with oxidizing agents. The exiting processing gases, which contain water vapor, are dedusted, and 80 to 90% by volume of the water vapor-containing processing gases are recycled to the furnace to act as entraining gas. The remaining water vapor-containing processing gases are condensed, the resulting liquid phase is withdrawn, and pollutants are removed from the withdrawn liquid phase by a wet chemical or physical processing.
