Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention comprise a bicycle trailer hitch for use in securing a bicycle trailer to a bicycle. Unlike prior art trailer hitches the transfer of most of the load between a bicycle and an associated bicycle trailer during use does not pass through the bolt/fastener used to couple the bicycle attachment section to the trailer attachment section thereof. Rather, the majority of the load is transferred through a direct connection between the respective sections.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention comprise a single-wheeled recumbent bicycle trailer which may be attached to a bicycle, for transport of a passenger or passengers, wherein the passengers may contribute to propulsion of the combined cycle. The embodiments include a recumbent seat position and other accommodations for the safety and comfort of passenger(s) and ease of use. Such accommodations may include single or multi-passenger configuration, passenger pedals, hands-free operation for passengers, supportive seats with backrests, extendable leg rests, and safety restraints.
