Patent number: 11965949Abstract: An approach to estimate noise, Rician signal bias and true signal in magnitude signal data obtained with magnetic resonance imaging. The method uses multiple measurements at different scan parameter settings, also referred to as weightings, and an iterative algorithm to estimate noise, expected signal and associated Rician signal bias. Measurements at all measured weighting levels contribute to the ultimate estimation of the bias-free signal decay function. Therefore, of the so processed magnetic resonance image data, weighted signals can be computed at arbitrary weighting levels and with considerably better signal-to-noise ratio than the originally obtained data at corresponding weightings. Bias-free weighted image data at desired weighting levels, maps of the decay function fit parameters, or maps of a combination of such decay function parameters can be used for rapid and highly sensitive tissue characterization.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 2019Date of Patent: April 23, 2024Inventor: Stephan Maier

Patent number: 9320720Abstract: A therapeutic system, designed as a laminate and including at least one adhesive laminate layer is described. Also described is a therapeutic device having such a therapeutic system. For this purpose, at least one laminate layer or one intermediate layer and/or one intermediate layer arranged between two laminate layers contains superparamagnetic nanoparticles. The therapeutic device having such a therapeutic system includes at least one electrically controllable system which is detachably connected to the therapeutic system. The electrically controllable system has a frequency-dependent electric resistance. During operation of the therapeutic device, the electrically controllable system generates an electric or magnetic field, which can be varied in orientation and intensity over time and penetrates the superparamagnetic nanoparticles. This provides a controllable therapeutic system that is independent of contact surfaces, and a therapeutic device having such a controllable therapeutic system.Type: GrantFiled: October 14, 2009Date of Patent: April 26, 2016Assignee: LTS Lohmann Therapie-Systeme AGInventor: Stephan Maier
