  • Patent number: 9459167
Abstract: A power measuring system for an at least partially human powered vehicle or training device with a crank drive, in particular a bicycle, with at least one crank arm of the bicycle being manufactured of fiber-reinforced plastics and the crank arm having a sensor, in particular a strain gage, and with the largest part of the sensor being directly enclosed on all sides by the fiber-reinforced plastics. The force exerted on the respective pedal and from this the torque exerted on the bottom bracket shaft is determined by an electronics unit, which is preferably arranged in a cavity in the bottom bracket shaft, from the signal of sensor. From this, together with the rotational frequency of bottom bracket shaft, which is possibly measured by further sensors or is determined in a calculative way, the power currently generated by the user of the bicycle is determined. The power values can, in particular wirelessly, be sent to a display unit and be displayed thereby in the form of power-related information.

  • Publication number: 20140182393
Abstract: The invention relates to a power measuring system for an at least partially human powered vehicle or training device with a crank drive, in particular a bicycle, with at least one crank arm 1, 6 of the bicycle being manufactured of fiber-reinforced plastics and the crank arm 1, 6 having a sensor 9, in particular a strain gage, and with the largest part of the sensor being directly enclosed on all sides by the fiber-reinforced plastics. The force exerted on the respective pedal and from this the torque exerted on the bottom bracket shaft 8 is determined by an electronics unit 5, which is preferably arranged in a cavity 12 in the bottom bracket shaft 8, from the signal of sensor 9. From this, together with the rotational frequency of bottom bracket shaft 8, which is possibly measured by further sensors or is determined in a calculative way, the power currently generated by the user of the bicycle is determined.

  • Patent number: 8234800
Abstract: The invention relates to a shoe, especially to a sports shoe, comprising a shoe upper (1) and a sole (2), wherein at least one actuator (3) is arranged in the sole (2), by means of which a region of the contact surface (4) for the foot of the wearer of the shoe can be affected with regard to the geometry of the contact surface (4) at least in a defined length range (BL) and/or width range (BB) of the sole (2) relatively to the position of the contact surface (5) of the sole (2) on the ground.

  • Publication number: 20100198111
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for influencing the pronation behaviour of a shoe (1), especially of a sports shoe, in which a) at least on parameter (?, d?/dt) is measured (2) which is relevant for the behaviour of pronation, b) the measured parameter (?, d?/dt) is led to a control unit (3), c) the control unit (3) outputs an actuation signal (S) which is influencing the behaviour of pronation to an actuator (4) and d) the actuator (4) changes a property of the shoe (1) which property is relevant for the behaviour of pronation. To better influence the behaviour of pronation the invention is characterized in that the processing of data of a parameter (?, d?/dt) measured according to step a) takes place from a reference point of time (tK), wherein the reference point of time is determined from the touch down of the shoe (1) on the ground.
