Abstract: A functional unit for a rotary printing press and a rotary printing press having such a functional unit is disclosed. The functional unit has an assembly unit to receive at least one component of the functional unit, in which the assembly unit has at least one assembly section, at least one assembly opening that is formed in the assembly section and in which the at least one component is received, and a support section on which a weight load is supportable. A component-free opening that in one cross-sectional dimension is at least as large as one cross-sectional dimension of the assembly opening is provided in the assembly section between the support section and the at least one assembly opening. Pre-stresses induced by the weight load on a bearing element are thereby inexpensively reduced or avoided for the component.

Abstract: A printing press bearing includes a radio frequency identification device, especially an active RFID read/write device, wherein in a first operating mode, namely, in a receiving mode, the RFID device receives and stores bearing data, and wherein in a second operating mode, namely, in a transmitting mode, the RFID device transmits the data that was read in and stored in the first operating mode.

Abstract: Apparatus for preventing the cylinder drive wheels of the transfer cylinders jamming against one another during setting and throwing-off movements includes a transfer cylinder having cylinder drive wheel which engages the drive wheels of a forme cylinder and of an impression cylinder in the thrown-on position. A linkage is connected to the transfer cylinder to be moved into the thrown-off position so that synchronously with the pivoting of the transfer cylinder to be thrown off, a counter-rotation of the transfer cylinder is produced a gear-wheel chain which meshes with the drive gear wheels of the forme cylinder and of the impression cylinder.
