  • Patent number: 9478011
Abstract: XHD video is acquired from a camera fitted with an ultra-wide field-of-view lens such as a fish eye lens. The active picture portion of the images are divided into patterns each having a plurality of pixels. The patterns are assigned coordinate values and then reformatted into HD format using an encryption key which reorders the patterns. The images are processed in the HD format and then returned to XHD formation by applying the reverse reordering process under the control of the key.

  • Publication number: 20150244531
Abstract: A method and system for scrambling visual information are, described. An image, preferably in an incompressed format, is divided into a number of patterns having a different aspect ratio. Each pattern is mapped on a matrix i.e positioned on X and Y-axis. The patterns are then arranged in a different and new shape for e.g. a rectangle, preferably, fitting the size of manoblocks in a MPEG video, to that of the original shape of the image but having the same number of patterns or same area. The patterns of pixels are then relocated in the new shape and a matrix is again mapped for the new arrangement of patterns. A key is then generated comprising the information of the encrypted and earlier image. The player decrypts the encrypted visual content or image by means of the information provided by the key.

  • Patent number: 8885822
Abstract: A method and system for encoding visual information are described. An image is divided in to n number of patterns. Each pattern is mapped on a matrix i.e positioned on X and Y-axis. The patterns are then arranged in a different and new shape for e.g. a rectangle, to that of the original shape of the image but having the same number of patterns or same area. The patterns of pixels are then relocated in the new shape and a matrix is again mapped for the new arrangement of patterns. A key is then generated comprising the information of the encrypted and earlier image. In order to decrypt the encrypted visual content or the encrypted image, the player reads the key or encrypted visual content and decrypts the encrypted visual content or image by means of the information provided by the key.

  • Patent number: 8395657
Abstract: A method and system for stitching two or more images to generate a resultant image of good quality is disclosed. The disclosed method and system represents a way to stitch two or more images captured through fisheye lenses. The method and system converts two fisheye hemispherical images to two triangles, which are thereafter stitched together to form a rectangular image. Herein each single pixel in the hemispherical images at the beginning represents one single pixel in the resultant rectangular figure at the end of the process. Thus, the resultant stitched image comprises of the same concentration of pixels at the end as was in the initial images to be stitched and occupies lesser storage space than equirectangular images or videos.

  • Publication number: 20110038408
Abstract: Multiple image streams may be acquired from different sources. The colour depth of the images is first reduced and the streams then combined to form a single stream having a known format and bit depth equal to the sum of the bit depths of the reduced bit streams. Thus, the multiple streams may be processed as a single stream. After processing, the streams are separated again by applying a reverse reordering process.
