  • Patent number: 9551773
Abstract: A system and method involve performing electron paramagnetic resonance on an object under study. The system comprises a first field generator adapted for generating an orienting magnetic field for orienting the magnetization of the object under study and a second field generator adapted for generating RF excitation waves at a frequency to generate electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) in the object under test. The system also comprises a detection unit adapted for detecting the EPR signals emitted by the object under test and a control unit adapted for controlling the relative orientation of the orienting magnetic field induced by the first field generator with respect to the detection unit. The system furthermore comprises a processing unit programmed for combining detected EPR signals obtained using different relative orientations of the orienting magnetic field with respect to the detection unit.

Date of Patent: January 24, 2017
    Assignee: PEPRIC NV
    Inventors: Peter Vaes, Stephanie Teughels
  • Patent number: 8816685
Abstract: A method and system for performing pulsed electron paramagnetic resonance is disclosed. In one aspect, the method includes generating an excitation pulse train for applying to an object having probes and detecting from the probes an echo response induced by the excitation pulse train.

  • Patent number: 8542014
Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for gathering information about an object including single domain particles which have a diameter in the range of about 5 to 80 nm. In one aspect, a method includes generating a static magnetic field of less than about 0.1 Tesla on the object and generating an RF energy, pulsed or continuous wave, so as to generate electron paramagnetic resonance of the single domain particles. The method also includes detecting the electron paramagnetic resonance of the single domain particles in the form of an image of the object. The single domain particles may have a predetermined diameter and a predetermined saturation magnetization and the applied magnetic field may be such that the single domain particles reach a magnetization being at least about 10% of the saturation magnetization. The method may be used for detecting tags in an object and for activating tags.
