  • Patent number: 10990250
Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide a GUI for a media editing application that provides visual cues (e.g., colors and/or lane sets) for media clips that are assigned different tags (or roles) in a media presentation. The GUI of the media application of some embodiments displays media clips of a composite media presentation, in which at least some of the media clips are associated with tags. The GUI also provides GUI controls for associating media clips associated with different tags with different colors and for displaying the media clips based on the clips' associated color. In some embodiments, the GUI includes a tool for arranging clips into groups based on assigned tags. The tool of some embodiments, upon selection, defines a set of lanes for each tag and displays any anchored clip that is associated with a tag in the set of lanes associated with the tag.

  • Patent number: 6400411
Abstract: The invention overcomes the need to adjust the video level settings of different video capture devices for each source by saving each setting as a difference between the actual setting and a default setting when digitizing source material. These saved differences are called differential settings. An actual setting for another capture device that provides consistent video levels when digitizing the same source may be derived from both the differential setting obtained when digitizing using the first capture device and the default setting of the other capture device. As a result, source material is mapped to consistent internal digital levels when used on the different devices. Accordingly, video characteristics such as gain, black, saturation and hue can be maintained correctly regardless of the unique settings due to manufacturing and calibration tolerances of the different video capture devices.

  • Patent number: 5115859
Abstract: A life support back pack 14 for use during extravehicular activity in space incorporates a cooling apparatus 20 comprised of five panels 22 each of which include in layered fashion a LCG coolant heat exchange coil 32, a heat distribution plate 42, and a heat dissipation module 50A or 50B having an outer radiator surface 52. Each module 50A houses a first phase change material 55A, for example hexadecane paraffin, and each module 50B houses a second phase change material 55B, for example tetradecane paraffin, which has a phase change temperature which is less than the phase change temperature of the first phase change material 55A. The cooling apparatus 20 is equipped with a coolant heat exchange circuit provided with mode selection valves 84 and 86 which are operated by a controller 88 to selectively direct the LCG coolant to be cooled through the cooling apparatus in one of three operating modes.

  • Patent number: 5092129
Abstract: Apparatus for removing heat energy of a cooling medium passing from a space suit liquid cooling garment includes a heat sink assembly for absorbing and rejecting the heat energy and a heat transfer means for transferring the heat energy of the cooling medium to the heat sink assembly. The heat transfer means, which is comprised of an array of thermoelectric modules, regulates the quantity of heat energy transferred from the cooling medium to the heat sink assembly. The heat sink assembly includes a material which isothermally changes phase while absorbing heat energy.
