Publication number: 20200207333Abstract: A vehicle for autonomously parking in a desired parking location selected via a remote device. The vehicle includes a first camera, a vehicle control system, and a first electronic processor. The first electronic processor is configured to receive a first image from the first camera, determine a plurality of features in the first image, and receive, from the remote device, a second image and the desired parking location in the second image. The first electronic processor is also configured to determine a plurality of features in the second image, match the determined features in the second image to determined features in the first image, and determine a location of the vehicle relative to the desired parking location. The first electronic processor is further configured to determine a route to the desired parking location from a current location of the vehicle and autonomously maneuver the vehicle to the desired parking location.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 31, 2018Publication date: July 2, 2020Inventors: James Stephen Miller, Sergio Andrés Amaya Correa

Patent number: 10684625Abstract: A system for parking a vehicle in a location that is not defined by parking lines or by surrounding vehicles. In one example, the system comprises a user interface, an electromagnetic radiation sensor, and an electronic controller. The electronic controller receives information about the vehicle's surroundings via the electromagnetic radiation sensor. The electronic controller also receives a desired parking location via the user interface. Using the information about the vehicle's surroundings and the desired parking location the electronic controller creates a virtual parking boundary and determines reference points. As the electronic controller moves the vehicle into a parking location the electronic controller tracks the reference points, determines the distance between the vehicle and the parking location, and detects obstructions in the parking location or in the vehicle's path to the parking location.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2017Date of Patent: June 16, 2020Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: James Stephen Miller, Greg Sypitkowski

Patent number: 10659686Abstract: Various embodiments of the present invention relate generally to systems and methods for analyzing and manipulating images and video. In particular, a multi-view interactive digital media representation can be generated from live images captured from a camera as the camera moves along a path. Then, a sequence of the images can be selected based upon sensor data from an inertial measurement unit and upon image data such that one of the live images is selected for each of a plurality of poses along the path. A multi-view interactive digital media representation may be created from the sequence of images, and the images may be encoded as a video via a designated encoding format.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 2018Date of Patent: May 19, 2020Assignee: Fyusion, Inc.Inventors: Alexander Jay Bruen Trevor, Stefan Johannes Josef Holzer, Radu Bogdan Rusu, Stephen Miller

Publication number: 20200149539Abstract: Technologies are described for devices and methods for adjusting a position of impellers within a bowl assembly. The devices may comprise an adjuster at the second end of a spacer coupling. The adjuster may include an adjuster sleeve. The adjuster sleeve may be a cylindrical sleeve. The adjuster sleeve may be threaded on an internal side. The adjuster sleeve may be spaced from the driven hub so that the adjuster sleeve can rotate around a driven shaft. The adjuster sleeve may threadedly mate and engage with an externally threaded first end of the driven shaft when the adjuster sleeve is rotated. The rotation of the adjuster sleeve may adjust a position of the driven shaft with respect to the driven hub and may thereby adjust a position of an impeller attached to a second end of the driven shaft with respect to a stationary bowl.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 14, 2018Publication date: May 14, 2020Applicant: ITT MANUFACTURING ENTERPRISES LLCInventors: Daniel Stephen Miller, Paul Walter Behnke

Patent number: 10623907Abstract: Embodiments for establishing configurations for a location sharing session are described. A location sharing session can include a sharing device gathering location data and providing it to a recipient device, e.g. via a server system. Configurations for a sharing session can include, for example: a duration that the sharing device provides the location data or that the sever system permits access to location data by the recipient device; preferences for how to manually or automatically set the duration for the sharing session; options to automatically end the sharing session; etc. A sharing session duration can be automatically set based on, e.g. an estimated time of arrival, a specified mode of transport, etc., and can include a specified amount of buffer time. The automatic share duration can last until a particular event occurs, e.g. the sharing device arriving at a particular location.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 2018Date of Patent: April 14, 2020Assignee: Glympse, Inc.Inventors: Stephen Miller, Christopher Park, Stephen Rakonza

Patent number: 10482767Abstract: A platoon management control system and method for local detection and determination of a non-platooning vehicle inserted or otherwise disposed between and/or adjacent to one or more platooning vehicle(s). A platooning vehicle determines a forward physical distance between itself and a vehicle physically ahead, and compares the determined physical distance with a value of a rearward distance to the platooning vehicle received from a next ahead platooning vehicle. The vehicle physically ahead is determined to be the next ahead platooning vehicle in accordance with a correspondence between the determined physical distance and the received value of the rearward distance. Conversely, the vehicle physically ahead is determined to be a non-platooning vehicle in accordance with a mis-correspondence between the determined physical distance and the received value of the rearward distance.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 2016Date of Patent: November 19, 2019Assignee: Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLCInventors: T.
