    Abstract: An aircraft passenger seat assembly and backrest unit attachable to a seat assembly, the backrest being pivotally attached or fixed, and the backrest unit including at least one frame member having adjacent weakened and intact sections provided along a peripheral edge, the weakened section having a first failure load and the intact section having a second failure load greater than the first failure load such that, when a load on a backside of the backrest unit exceeds the first failure load, the weakened section fails and the intact section deforms allowing a portion of the backrest unit to tilt forward beyond an upright sitting position to absorb impact energy.

In embodiments, the upholstery cover retention assembly further includes a dress cover assembly including a dress cover configured to at least partially cover the upholstered surface of the upholstered article, and an assembled edge configured to be disposed within a groove formed between the peripheral surface of the upholstered article and the bezel. In embodiments, assembled edge is configured to be secured within the groove by engaging a lower engagement surface of the retention flange and a lower surface of the bezel lip with the assembled edge.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method for securely holding a Portable Electronic Device (PED). The PED holder is integrated with furniture viewable by a potential user and configured with a support structure couplable to an existing portion of the furniture. The support structure holds a retractable, spring-loaded extension member biased for retraction. Empty, the extension member automatically retracts proximal with the housing of the support structure. Extended, with a PED in place, the retraction bias allows for securely clamping a plurality of sizes of PED.
