  • Publication number: 20140025328
Abstract: A method of testing an electric discharge stun device includes the steps of identifying a stun device to be tested and absorbing a discharge from the stun device into a tester. The discharge is characterized by a discharge characteristic that is then compared automatically to information such as (a) a previous corresponding characteristic associated with a previous discharge of the stun device or (b) a corresponding characteristic associated with a prior discharge of at least one other stun device. The characteristic can be a waveform, a peak voltage, duration, current, joule, and temperature.

  • Patent number: 8612852
Abstract: Techniques for generating a page from a declarative specification are provided. An interface is provided that enables a user to declaratively specify a data source. Also, an interface is provided that allows a user to declaratively specify layout information for data from the data source. A page is then generated based on the declarative specification for the data source and the layout information.

  • Publication number: 20130191788
Abstract: The disclosed methods and systems are related to a navigation of user interfaces that is vector based. Vector based navigation combines the efficiency of orthogonal direction navigation (up/down/left/right) with the flexibility of pointer-based (e.g. mouse/touch-pad) navigation. User interface elements can be arranged arbitrarily in 2D (or 3D) space and described in term of vector relationships from the currently active UI element. Directional gestures coming from control devices such as a track-ball, touch-pad, or gyroscopic remote can be translated into vector movements to affect navigation between UI elements.

  • Patent number: 8383959
Abstract: A chamber or series of chambers is formed from layers of nested shells and used to manipulate a work product within the chambers. The shells are formed from highly ordered material structures, such as superconductors and metamaterials, and the work product is manipulated using energy that is directed from the outside of the chamber, through the nested shells and into the chamber. The nested shells have an open position and a closed position or have a bridge through which a working material can be passed from one set of nested shells to another set of nested shells. The superconducting shells can be type-1 or type-2, and the metamaterial shells can include any combination of a frequency agile metamaterial, a split ring resonator, an artificial structure of a wire medium, a unit cell of an artificial magnetic metamaterial, metamaterial superlattices and any combination thereof, or other highly ordered composite metamaterials.

  • Patent number: 8353690
Abstract: A pair of dual chamber mixing pumps are combined which allow for a constant dispense rate profile using motor speed modulation. Each pump is divided into two chambers, the proximal chamber and the distal chamber. The chambers are defined in part by a piston having proximal and distal ends and recessed sections. The pump utilizes one common driving mechanism to axially rotate and laterally reciprocate the piston to provide continuous pumping of fluids with reduced pulsations. Each fluid enters through its own pump inlet and outlet. The pumps are operated 90° out of phase with respect to each other.

  • Publication number: 20130012329
Abstract: A collapsible, portable infant swing having a foldable base movable between an unfolded, extended position and a folded, collapsed position, a lock mechanism for selectively locking/unlocking the foldable base, and support arms supported by the foldable base. Swing arms are pivotally coupled to the support arms for pivotal, back and forth motion and an infant support seat coupled to the swing arms for supporting and swinging an infant. A multi-function handle is provided for housing the lock mechanism for locking/unlocking the foldable base, for grasping the foldable base to fold the foldable base, and for carrying the swing when the foldable base is folded. The multi-function handle is positioned substantially centrally below the seat to make it generally inaccessible by the infant.

  • Publication number: 20110011526
Abstract: A special patch is adhered to the bare metal of a dash panel in covering relation to one or more pass-through holes and their margins before a truck cab is primed and painted. After painting, a cover of the patch is peeled off to expose an electrically conductive medium that remains adhered to the bare metal. A ground block is mounted on the dash panel with a stud passing through a pass-through hole. The electrically conductive medium establishes conductivity of the body of the ground block to the dash panel.

  • Publication number: 20070265144
Abstract: Various embodiments are directed to a children's exercise and activity apparatus. The apparatus includes an activity table, a seat, a connecting beam for connecting the seat to the activity table, and one or more legs connected to and depending downwardly from the seat to the floor to support the seat and prevent the seat from tipping over when a child is supported therein. The seat has a pair of leg openings that allow the child to touch the floor with its legs, and the connecting beam is rotatably connected to the activity table so that the child in the seat can travel in an orbital path around the activity table. In addition, the angular rotation of the seat may be limited to prevent the child from rotating the seat to a point at which the child could walk along the floor and move the apparatus along with the child.

  • Publication number: 20070237658
Abstract: Valveless piston pumps are disclosed that are magnetically driven, thereby eliminating a troublesome dynamic seal used on conventional valveless piston pumps. An exemplary embodiment includes a housing defining a bore having a bore axis. A piston is situated in the bore so as to be movable in the bore in a reciprocating manner along the bore axis and in a rotational manner about the bore axis. A magnet is situated in the bore and is coupled to the piston. The magnet is engageable magnetically with a magnet-driving device configured to cause the magnet, and thus the piston, to move in the reciprocating manner and in the rotational manner. An exemplary magnet-driving device is a stator assembly.
