  • Publication number: 20080148440
Abstract: A new cultivar of Hebe hybrid origin, Hebe ‘Sunset Boulevard’, characterized by its abundant flower spikes of mauve pink flowers, dark green foliage, and resistance to powdery mildew.
    Type: Application
    Filed: January 25, 2008
    Publication date: June 19, 2008
    Inventor: Stephen Burton
  • Publication number: 20080009042
Abstract: A process is provided for the preparation of albumin which has extremely low levels of or is essentially free of colorants, metal ions, human proteins, host proteins, fragments of albumin, polymers or aggregates of albumin and viruses, and which is essentially non-glycated, relatively high in free thiol and with an intact C-terminus. The process comprises passing albumin (preferably expressed and secreted by transformed yeast) through positive mode cation exchange and then positive mode anion exchange chromatography. Other steps may also be employed, for example ultrafiltration, gel permeation chromatography, affinity chromatography binding the albumin and affinity chromatography binding contaminants. Elution of albumin, with a compound having affinity for albumin, from a material having no specific affinity for albumin is also disclosed, as is removal of ammonium ions with a counter-ion.

  • Publication number: 20070063603
Abstract: A front loading washing machine includes an integrated motor and controller assembly. In various embodiment, the controller is mounted directly to one of a pair of opposing endshields of the electric motor and the endshields are mounted directly to a stator of the motor. Additional embodiments include a rotor shaft of the motor having each of opposing ends supported within a bearing mounted within a respective one of the opposing endshields. In other embodiments, the controller can include an insulating shield positioned between a controller circuit board and the motor endshield to which the controller is mounted. The insulating shield providing electrical arcing protection, thermal insulation and/or electromagnetic insulation between the circuit board and the endshield.

  • Publication number: 20050142636

The process comprises passing albumin (preferably expressed and secreted by transformed yeast) through positive mode cation exchange and then positive mode anion exchange chromatography. Other steps may also be employed, for example ultrafiltration, gel permeation chromatography, affinity chromatography binding the albumin (for example using blue dyes) and affinity chromatography binding contaminants (for example using an aminophenylboronic acid resin). Elution of albumin, with a compound having affinity for albumin, from a material having no specific affinity for albumin is also disclosed, as is removal of ammonium ions with a counter-ion.

  • Patent number: 6320142
Abstract: A mounting assembly for use in combination with a load cell adapted to measure the weight of an object is disclosed. The mounting assembly has a fixed portion (10) that includes a base and a support, and a moveable platform (20) adapted to be supported by the support when in its installation (non-working) position. The platform (20) is further adapted to be raised from its non-working position to a working position by means of a lever, the platform being supported by the load cell in this working position. In a preferred embodiment, a load cell is used as the lever to raise the platform onto the load cell as it is secured to the mounting assembly.
