Abstract: Among other things, an information retrieval process that optimizes the retrieval of highly relevant information across dissimilar documents; information retrieval is based on information understanding, using contextual word disambiguation and sentence parsing to determine well-formed sentences, storing information according to syntactical structures; the information retrieval process finds the target of the search in the subject, subject complement, or direct object and returns maximally informative factual sentences; this search method alters the traditional user experience by presenting facts about the search topic with a link to the source document sentence, rather than presenting brief snippets of text containing the search string.
