  • Patent number: 7603889
Abstract: Fluid sensor methods and systems adapted for monitoring and/or controlling distillation operations in fluidic systems, such as batch distillation operations or continuous distillation operations, are disclosed. Preferred embodiments are directed to process monitoring and/or process control for unit operations involving endpoint determination of a distillation, for example, as applied to a liquid-component-switching operation (e.g., a solvent switching operation), a liquid-liquid separation operation, a solute concentration operation, a dispersed-phase concentration operation, among others.

  • Publication number: 20080275653
Abstract: Systems, methods and apparatus implementing techniques for separating and/or analyzing fluid mixtures. The techniques employ microfluidic separation devices that include an inlet port for receiving a fluid feed stream, a microscale fluid flow channel in fluid communication with the fluid inlet port, a phase equilibrium control region located along the fluid flow channel for controlling conditions including temperature and/or pressure to provide a thermal equilibrium, a capillary network in the temperature control region, a first outlet port in indirect fluid communication with the fluid flow channel through the capillary network, and a second outlet port in direct fluid communication with the fluid flow channel. A plurality of microfluidic separation devices can be coupled in fluidic communication to provide for separation of complex mixtures. The systems, methods and apparatus can be used to characterize fluid mixtures.

  • Patent number: 7255474
Abstract: A library of material samples is provided in a condition suitable for imaging using infrared (IR) spectroscopy. The samples are provided to one or more detection cells, each of the cells including or containing a reflective surface. Preferably, for imaging, an energy source (e.g. a source of infrared radiation) provides energy to the detection cells to interact with the samples. Thereafter, images (e.g., spectra) related to the samples are created based upon the interaction.

    Filed: July 28, 2004
Date of Patent: August 14, 2007
    Assignee: Symyx Technologies, Inc.

  • Publication number: 20060287528
Abstract: The present invention relates to crystalline anhydrate polymorphs of the dihydrogenphosphate salt of (2R)4-oxo-4-[3-(trifluoromethyl)-5,6-dihydro[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-?]pyrazin-7(8H) yl]-1-(2,4,5-trifluorophenyl)butan-2-amine as well as a process for their preparation, pharmaceutical compositions containing these novel forms, and methods of use of the novel forms and pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment of diabetes, obesity, and high blood pressure. The invention also concerns novel crystalline solvates of the dihydrogenphosphate salt of (2R)-4-oxo-4-[3-(trifluoromethyl)-5,6-dihydro[1,2,4]tria-zolo [4,3-?]pyrazin-7(8H)-yl]-1-(2,4,5-trifluorophenyl)butan-2-amine as well as a crystalline desolvated polymorph and their use for the preparation of the anhydrate polymorphs of the present invention.

  • Publication number: 20050032804
Abstract: The dihydrogenphosphate salt of 4-oxo-4-[3-(trifluoromethyl)-5,6-dihydro [1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a]pyrazin-7(8H)-yl]-1-(2,4,5-trifluorophenyl)butan-2-amine is a potent inhibitor of dipeptidyl peptidase-IV and is useful for the prevention and/or treatment of non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus, also referred to as type 2 diabetes. The invention also relates to a crystalline monohydrate of the dihydrogenphosphate salt as well as a process for its preparation, pharmaceutical compositions containing this novel form and methods of use for the treatment of diabetes, obesity, and high blood pressure.
