  • Patent number: 11192966
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the production of polyacrylonitrile by polymerisation of a reaction mixture comprising acrylonitrile in a solution where the solvent is a eutectic system comprising a quaternary ammonium compound and a hydrogen donor. Such process allows for the production of a polyacrylonitrile having a desirably high molecular weight, whilst polymerisation time is reduced, and where the solvents are environmentally benign, biodegradable and may be reused in the polymerisation process.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 28, 2017
Date of Patent: December 7, 2021
    Assignee: SABIC GLOBAL TECHNOLOGIES B.V.
Inventors: Roopali Rai, Stephen D. Pask, Susanta Mitra, Abdulsattar Dawood
  • Patent number: 10961377
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the production of an ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymer (EPDM) composition in a reaction vessel comprising the following steps in this order: (a) supplying a quantity of a first composition comprising an ethylene copolymer or a propylene copolymer and a first peroxide to the reaction vessel; (b) supplying a quantity of a second composition comprising EPDM and a second peroxide to the reaction vessel; or (a) supplying a quantity of a second composition comprising EPDM and a second peroxide to the reaction vessel; (b) supplying a quantity of a first composition comprising an ethylene copolymer or a propylene copolymer and a first peroxide to the reaction vessel; and (c) exposing the contents of the reaction vessel under stirring to a temperature of 100-200° C.

  • Patent number: 5037961
Abstract: Aryldiazosulphonates having polymerizable ethylenically unsaturated groups are excellent starting materials for water-soluble homopolymers and copolymers, which can be converted to water-soluble polymers by irradiation. Thus, the polymers can be utilized for the preparation of aqueous coating compositions.
