Abstract: Automating the processes of receiving, storing and analyzing blood glucose readings obtained from a diabetic using one or more computer-based systems may provide a number of advantages in the management of levels of glucose in the diabetic's blood. Information regarding a blood glucose reading obtained from a user may be transmitted in one or more messages to the user, to an interested party (e.g. family member), or to a third party over a network, and may serve as the basis for a computer-based motivation strategy to encourage the diabetic to comply with a blood glucose management regime. Additionally, such information may be manually or automatically posted to a social network, thereby enabling the diabetic to receive words of encouragement and support from his or her social network connections, and thereby increase his or her motivation to comply with the blood glucose management regime accordingly.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products, for optimizing performance of ports in a network are provided. The method includes gathering a set of performance data for a port provisioned with a profile. The profile is defined by parameters with associated metrics that are used to establish a level of service for the port. The method also includes analyzing the set of performance data in light of the parameters in the profile to determine a current performance level of the port and performing a set of actions using the current performance level as a baseline. The set of actions include incrementally adjusting at least one of the parameters, determining another set of performance data in response to the adjusting, evaluating the performance data to determine a new performance level, and determining from the new performance level if a maximum performance level for the port is realized.

Abstract: A system and method for synchronizing data in first and second computer servers is provided. The first computer server includes a first plurality of data sets each having a first identifier and a first set of attributes. The second computer server includes second plurality of data sets each having a second identifier and a second set of attributes. The method includes transmitting a second identifier and a second checksum value both associated with one of the second plurality of data sets to the first computer server. The method further includes accessing one of the first plurality of data sets having a first identifier corresponding to the transmitted second identifier to determine a first checksum value associated with the accessed data set.
