  • Publication number: 20230302503
Abstract: Apparatus (10) for automatically removing an exhausted layer of adhesive material from an adhesive roll (12), said apparatus comprising an adhesive roll (12) comprising at least one layer of adhesive material (22), said at least one adhesive layer having first and second mutually opposing faces, said second face releasably attached to said adhesive roll and having a first adhesion force between said second face and an said adhesive roll; and an adhesive layer removal mechanism (14) comprising an outer surface arranged to operably engage said at least one layer of adhesive material of said adhesive roll and remove the same from said adhesive roll, said outer surface having a second adhesion force between said outer surface and said at least one layer of adhesive material, wherein said second adhesion force is greater than the first adhesion force.

  • Publication number: 20230191459
Abstract: There is provided a contact cleaning surface (10), for a contact cleaning roller, configured to collect and/or remove contaminating particles from a contaminated substrate, including a frame defining a plurality of recessed cells (14), the frame having at least one wall defining the perimeter of each cell, the at least one wall having a pair of parallel opposing surfaces upstanding substantially perpendicularly from a base and terminating in a contact surface configured to contact the contaminated substrate, the at least one wall having a cross-sectional area that is substantially the same between said base and said contact surface. There is also provided a contact cleaning and an apparatus, each configured to collect and/or remove contaminating particles from a contaminated substrate, and method of collecting and/or removing contaminating particles from a contaminated substrate.

  • Publication number: 20230173556
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an apparatus for applying an adhesive layer to an adhesive roll in a contact cleaning device, in particular, but not exclusively, to an apparatus including an applicator or an apparatus including a cartridge with an applicator. The present invention also relates to apparatus for contact cleaning a substrate surface including a contact cleaning roller, an adhesive roll and an applicator. The apparatus is suitable for applying an adhesive layer to an adhesive roll in a contact cleaning device, said apparatus comprising an applicator arranged and configured to apply at least one adhesive layer to an outer surface of the adhesive roll.

  • Patent number: 10399128
Abstract: A system (10) for cleaning an object (12) includes a roll cleaner (14) having a rotatable elastomeric roll (20) with a cylindrical outer surface configured to contact the first surface of the object (12), a rotatable adhesive roll (22) with a cylindrical outer surface contacting a portion of the outer surface of the elastomeric roll (20), and a support (24). The object (12) passes between the elastomeric roll (20) and the support (24), which contacts a second, opposing object surface. An atmospheric plasma cleaner (16) includes a sealed chamber (32) and at least one electrode (34) disposed in the chamber (32) and receiving a high voltage to generate a plasma applied to the first object surface. At least a portion of an inlet of the plasma cleaner (16) is formed by the elastomeric roll (20) and the support (24), and the contacting of the first and second surfaces of the object (12) by the elastomeric roll (20) and the support (24) seals the inlet of the plasma cleaner (16).
