  • Publication number: 20150123310
Abstract: A method for injection molding a pair of end muckets to a previously injection molded panel and prior to attaching a separately formed seal. The method includes the step of initially forming a vehicle panel from a first material in a closed cavity, following which a second stage injection molding process forms a pair of end muckets onto the panel. The separately formed seal exhibits an elongated profile and is inter-fitted between the end muckets, concurrent with being affixed to an extending surface of the panel, and to provide interface support between the seating ends of the seal and the adjoining vehicle fenders. Additional steps include injection molding a first plasticized materials into a closed cavity configuration established between assembled mold halves in order to initially mold the panel, following which a second plasticized material molds the end muckets along with additional wiper and windshield seals.

  • Patent number: 8708345
Abstract: A seal for use with a radiator having a plurality of edge extending and assembleable portions collectively establishing a frame around the radiator. The upper and lower extending sides can include a number of materials, not limited to a 40% calcium carbonate polypropylene. The edge extending and interconnecting sides are further constructed, in cross section, of a harder material as a flat extending first face along with an intermediate positioned snap fit portion, such as for engaging a condenser tank, as well as at least one pin receiving location. A second softer material is coextruded to an edge of the harder material and, upon assembly into a four sided frame with the upper and lower sides, is affixed both around and at least partially forwardly of the radiator face in order to redirect/funnel air to the front of the radiator.

  • Publication number: 20120175848
Abstract: An improved Rieber type seal having an annular extending profile composed of a first thermoplastic material exhibiting a first rigidity and a second thermoplastic material having a second lesser rigidity is applied over the first material such that at least one surface of the first material is exposed upon installing within a first pipe section and contacts an inserting end of a second pipe section. The first material can include a glass filled polymer reinforced or other thermo rigid material, whereas the second material may include a softer thermoplastic backing material injected around the first material in a solidifying stage or may be one selected from the group including a thermoplastic vulcanite (TPV), thermoplastic urethane (TPU) or styrene ethylene butylene styrene (SEBS).

  • Publication number: 20120175544
Abstract: A displaceable valve body incorporated into a housing including a rigid thermoplastic body including suspended within the housing by a vertically displaceable stem associated with a solenoid. A softer thermoplastic material is applied in perimeter extending fashion to an exterior of the first material for sealing the valve when displaced to an interrupting position established between inlet and outlet locations communicating with the valve housing and, in the lowered position, a lower and arcuate configured edge of the body seals the interior of the valve housing. The solenoid is mounted atop the housing and communicates with the body via an interiorly/vertically translating stem in order to selectively lift and lower the body relative to a through flow interior established within the housing.

  • Patent number: 5264670
Abstract: A combined switch and light assembly having a socket body. The socket body has a mounting plate and a cylindrical body member. The assembly further includes a plunger consisting of a cylindrical tube. The plunger has a smaller diameter than the diameter of the body member of the socket body. The plunger is in sliding engagement with the body member of the socket body. A spiral spring is mounted in the socket body to slide the plunger with respect to the socket body. A metallic contact pin is attached to the plunger. A light bulb is mounted in the plunger and connected to the contact pin. A metallic plate is mounted on the socket body. The plate is connected to electrical leads. When the assembly is activated, the spring slides the plunger until the contact pin is in communication with the metallic plate. The electricity running to the plate flows to the contact pin connected to the light bulb. This energizes the light bulb to provide light.
