The upper portion of the barrier lid may also include a connector to removably securing an attachment, such as a light, sign, alarm, or a flexible member for marking a traffic pathway.

The hand rail member has a body with a base shaped to allow a series of cable protectors to be attached together in an end-to-end fashion, connectors for attaching the hand rail member to corresponding connectors on the side ramps of a modular cable protector, and a hand rail extending across the top of the hand rail member.

Abstract: A modular cable protector has a side ramp extending laterally outward and downward from the top to the base along one side of the cable protector, and a side ramp cover extending laterally outward and upward from the base to the top along the opposing side of the cable protector. The side ramp cover can be use to abut and cover the side ramp of an adjacent cable protector with the tops of the cable protectors in vertical alignment to form a substantially continuous surface.

Abstract: A modular cable protector assembly has side ramps, tunnel members, and tunnel connectors that can be removably engaged to one another in a modular fashion to form a wide variety of configurations. Each tunnel member includes a tunnel extending along its length for passage of cables, and two sets of laterally-opposed connectors that removably engage corresponding connectors on the undersides of the side ramps. Each tunnel connector has two sets of connectors that removably engage the connectors on two tunnel members and thereby secure the tunnel members in a side-by-side relationship. The side ramps and the top surface of the tunnel connector combine to provide a relatively continuous surface over the cable protector assembly that is suitable for foot traffic or wheeled traffic.

A number of cable protector connectors extend from the central member to removably secure the cable protectors to the central member.

Abstract: A modular cable bridging device for protecting cables. A plurality of ramps and central members are provided, each having a respective sidewall. The central members are formed with a passageway therethrough for receiving a cable. A ramp connector extends along at least a portion of the midsection of the sidewall of each ramp. A complementary central member connector on the midsection of the opposing sidewalls of each central member slidably engage the ramp connectors. The ramp is thus secured to the central member and bridges the cable when the ramp sidewalls are positioned parallel and adjacent to the central member sidewalls and the ramp connector and central member connector are slid together in a direction parallel to the sidewalls. In addition, the central members can be secured to one another with an interconnect member formed by two opposing ramp connectors that slidably engage the complementary central member connector in the manner described above. Each ramp is also provided with end connectors.
