    Abstract: An inflatable structure that includes continuous longitudinal and axial curves, constructed to form a hydrodynamically designed performance platform for use as a performance water sports board, rescue board, or rescue sled, such as a stand-up paddle board, paddleboard, surfboard, PWC rescue sled, bodyboard, or other floating or dynamic platform. Alternatively, it may be adapted for use with additional structure to provide an inflatable hull and floor for a watercraft, such as a boat, raft, life-raft, rescue craft, or other floating or dynamic platform. Longitudinal stringers welded to opposing panels defining the interior volume of the inflatable structure are joined by welding, gluing, or lashing, and the shape of the stringers and the welding/gluing/lashing schedule can be employed to give the inflatable structure a highly customized curved shape.

    Abstract: A community enables user membership in a distributed collaborative computing environment. The members can have access to a repository of resources. Dynamic notifications between client and server can be provided. A member can be logged onto a client which pings the server computer through no interaction of the user. A notifications manager located on the server can retrieve updates available for the member in response to each ping. The notifications manager can look up any changes to the resources that the member has subscribed to. The server can subsequently notify the client of the available updates. The client's user interface can be updated to reflect the relevant changes. A dynamic and granular interaction between the server and the client can be enabled instead of updating the entire portal page. Each ping can carry an id of the member and community, which the server can use to determine the relevant updates.

    Abstract: A portable micro-organism inactivation system comprising: a casing mounting, a UV radiation source, a pump, and releasable tube support for supporting an elongate tube to define a flow path extending therethrough which is substantially free of substantial discontinuities are provided by the present invention. The elongate tube has a first portion and a second portion wherein the first portion has a UV-transparent wall. The first portion extends in close proximity to the UV radiation source within an irradiation zone thereof while the second portion is interfaced with the pump for pumping of fluid through the system so that substantially the whole of said individual fluid unit is exposed to a similar micro-organism inactivating level of UV-irradiation, while minimizing damage to the desired components thereof. The invention also provides a method of micro-organism inactivation in a fluid using a system of the invention.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for effective inactivation of micro-organisms in fluids with relatively high absorbance so as to limit damage. The apparatus has a large diameter passage (2) flow-through UV radiation system with a static mixer system (11) providing an intensive fluid flow mixing within an irradiation area in which the fluid flow is controlled to provide a flow rate not less than a minimum flow rate corresponding to a maximum fluid residence time within said irradiation area required for efficient mixing, and a maximum flow rate providing a minimum residence time for effective inactivation.
