  • Patent number: 4111204
Abstract: A suction collection system embodying a disposable drainage receiving assembly including a flexible plastic bag sealed to and depending from a lid for positioning within a rigid canister, the open upper end of the canister being sealed by the lid. The lid includes a drainage fixture communicating with the interior of the bag. A suction fixture, also on the lid, communicates with the canister exteriorly of the bag and with the interior of the bag through a restricted fluid path. The suction fixture communication with the canister exteriorly of the bag can be either direct or through a well having a fluid path to the exterior of the bag and a set of apertures opening into the bag. An air pervious-liquid impervious path is orientated solely between the suction fixture and the interior of the bag for an exclusion of liquid and a slight restriction of air flow relative to the flow from the canister exteriorly of the bag.
