  • Patent number: 11450454
Abstract: A cable that extends along a longitudinal axis between a first end and a second end. The cable includes a jacket defined about the longitudinal axis. The jacket includes a plurality of fluting elements between the cable first end and the cable second end. The fluting elements are configured to reduce the torsional forces of cross-wind.

  • Publication number: 20120061121
Abstract: A vibration resistant cable having a first conductor and a second conductor. The second conductor may be twisted around the first conductor at a lay length configured to cause a locking force between the first conductor and the second conductor. The locking force may be configured to prevent relative movement of the first conductor and the second conductor that may result in bags in the vibration resistant cable. The lay length may be predetermined or may vary a predetermined amount per unit of length of the vibration resistant cable. The lay length may be c1d+c2, where d may be the diameter of the first conductor and the second conductor and c1 and c2 may be constants configured to obtain the locking force to eliminate bags in the vibration resistant cable and provide Aeolian vibration dampening in the vibration resistant cable.

  • Publication number: 20100247746
Abstract: An extrusion apparatus for extruding multiple streams of extrusion material as extruded end-products and in the coating of substrates. A flow joiner in an extrusion head combines multiple metered streams such as from a gear pump, into a uniform extrusion flow.

  • Publication number: 20080060833
Abstract: A plurality of individual elements are imparted with reverse axial twist and collectively twisted into a multi-element assembly. Each individual element has an axial twist direction in an opposite direction from the axial twist direction of the collective multi-element assembly. The reverse axial torsion in the assembly tightly binds the plurality elements in the assembly to resist separation.

  • Publication number: 20060090925
Abstract: An electrical cable and a method for manufacturing the electrical cable are provided in which a plurality of insulated conductors have an inner protective layer extruded thereabout. A plurality of longitudinally extending ribs or fins or exterior ribbed or finned surfaces are formed outward of the inner protective layer between which exist a plurality of voids. An outer insulation layer can be formed in the same operation as the fins or ribbed surface and the inner layer or in a subsequent operation. A self-sealing elastomeric material is applied to the conductor surface or is present between the fins and between the inner protective layer and the outer insulation layer.

A plurality of longitudinally extending ribs or fins or exterior ribbed or finned surfaces are formed outward of the inner protective layer between which exist a plurality of voids. An outer insulation layer and the self-sealing material can be formed sequentially or simultaneously in the same operation as the fins or ribbed surface and the inner layer or in a subsequent operation.
