    Abstract: An electrical sub-circuit assembly is secured to a printed circuit board by providing a printed circuit board with a basin, the printed circuit board having electrical pathways leading to the top or side or on the bottom of said basin, and positioning an electrical sub-circuit assembly in the basin, the sub-circuit assembly having dimensions corresponding to the size of the basin so as to be a close fit therein and having electrical connections which locate adjacent corresponding electrical pathways on the printed circuit board. The sub-circuit assembly is secured in the basin, and the electrical connections on the sub-circuit assembly are connected to the corresponding pathways on the printed circuit board.

    Abstract: A deployable acoustic wave RFID/biosensor assembly has at least one protective layer, and an acoustic wave RFID/biosensor within the protective layer or layers. The acoustic wave RFID/biosensor includes an acoustic wave device, a biolayer mounted on the acoustic wave device, an electric circuit operable to actuate the acoustic wave device, and a fluidic chamber associated with the biolayer. In use, the fluidic chamber contains fluid which, if a predetermined substance to be sensed is present, operates to modify the biolayer which in turn affects the operation of the acoustic wave device. Protective fluid is provided within the protective layer or layers substantially surrounds the acoustic wave RFID/biosensor to protect the acoustic wave RFID/biosensor from damage when the RFID/biosensor assembly impacts a target and to protect the biolayer from deterioration during storage and use.

    Abstract: A low voltage sensing circuit for a battery powered, micro-processor based circuit is provided. A standard voltage regulator has input voltage from a battery, and output voltage which is fed to a system requiring the same, which includes a micro-processor. A voltage divider is connected through a capacitor to an output port of the micro-processor; and the common point of the voltage divider is connected to the base or emitter of a transistor. Periodically, there is an output pulse from the output port of the micro-processor, which pulse has a predetermined length. During the output pulse from the micro-processor, the transistor may become conductive while the capacitor is recharging. Depending of the configuration, the fact that the transistor is conductive is indicative that the input voltage is either below or above a predetermined value.
