  • Patent number: 5795044
Abstract: A one-piece plastic drawer safety latch for preventing unwanted opening of drawers or the like includes a mounting section mounted to an exterior of the drawer and a latching section which normally projects forwardly toward a front of the drawer and outwardly at an angle relative thereto. The latching section includes a forward facing step which abuts against an opposing surface of a cabinet front wall to prevent complete opening of the drawer. The latching section includes a finger tab which projects out of the cabinet housing when the drawer is partially open such that a user can manually press the latch section inwardly to disengage the step from the cabinet frame and permit complete opening of the drawer.

  • Patent number: 5246184
Abstract: A storage reel embodying the concepts of the present invention is particularly adapted for storing cable that is subjected to creep. The storage reel has a pair of laterally spaced side flanges. Core means extend between the side flanges to define a cable-engaging surface. This cable-engaging surface has a coefficient of friction of at least 0.499. This coefficient virtually precludes creep between the cable and the storage reel. An anchor aperture penetrates at least one of the side flanges to permit one end of the cable to extend therethrough, and a fastening means is employed to secure that end of the cable to the exterior surface on that side flange. The present invention also contemplates the use of a cover structure that may be secured to at least one side flange to contain the cable end that penetrates that flange.
