  • Publication number: 20170368495
Abstract: A method for separating carbon dioxide from a flue gas stream wherein the flue gas stream is fed to an absorber column thereby producing a carbon dioxide depleted flue gas stream and wherein carbon dioxide absorbed from the carbon dioxide rich flue gas stream in the solvent is fed from the absorber column to a stripper column as a carbon dioxide rich solvent blend. The method is an improvement over prior carbon dioxide separation process by feeding the flue gas stream to a gas pre-treatment device prior to feeding into the absorber column preferably for decreasing the oxygen content in the flue gas and recycling a carbon dioxide product from the stripper column to the absorber column to increase the carbon dioxide content in the flue gas.

  • Patent number: 9157369
Abstract: A method and system for integrating a power plant and a post combustion carbon capture plant such as a solvent based absorption-regeneration process plant. Electricity is produced by a boiler feeding steam to one or more turbines. The flue gas from the boiler is fed to a waste heat recovery unit which captures heat and provides it to the post combustion capture plant where it can be used in a stripper interstage heater as a supplemental heat for solvent regeneration. Additionally recovered heat can be also integrated with the power generation plant by transferring it to the boiler feed water heating system. Part of the electricity that is generated is also fed to the post combustion capture plant where it will be used to power unit operations therein.

  • Publication number: 20050203327
Abstract: The present invention provides for a process of separating hydrocarbons such as short chain paraffins and olefins from non-hydrocarbon gases using short-cycle time concentration swing adsorption processes. The hydrocarbons are adsorbed from the gaseous stream on highly siliceous nanoporous materials, e.g., such as of aluminum-deficient faujasite-type zeolites, by way of a pressure, vacuum or temperature swing adsorption, then desorbed from the adsorbent in the presence of steam. Optionally, the steam is desorbed from the adsorbent through the use of air or inert gas or a recycle of the waste gas effluent. The invention also provides for a new method of preparing novel shapes such as beads and monolithic structures of the highly sileceous nanoporous materials.
