  • Publication number: 20230011537
Abstract: A consumable part and methods for tracking the consumable part includes embedding a radio frequency tag within a pocket created on a side of the consumable part that faces away from a process region defined within a process chamber of the processing tool and covering an opening of the pocket using a plug. The plug is laser fused along an interface formed between sidewalls of the plug and sidewalls of the pocket.

  • Patent number: 8960325
Abstract: The design of the free-mass in an ultrasonic driller/corer (USDC) has been refined in order to improve the performance and operational reliability of the system. In one embodiment, the improvements in performance and operational reliability include decreasing the impact surface area of the free-mass to increase the transfer of impact energy from the piezoelectric transducer and reductions in the likelihood that the system will jam.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 27, 2011
Date of Patent: February 24, 2015
    Assignee: California Institute of Technology
Inventors: Xiaoqi Bao, Stewart Sherrit, Mircea Badescu, Yoseph Bar-Cohen, Steve Askins, Patrick Ostlund

  • Publication number: 20090261810
Abstract: A simulator system for simulating operation of a solar panel is disclosed which comprises a solar panel, a reflector positioned across from the solar panel, a light source positioned adjacent to the solar panel for directing light from the light source to the reflector for reflecting light to the solar panel, a sensor positioned adjacent to the solar panel for sensing light reflected from the reflector and for generating a signal indicative of a parameter of the reflected light with the signal having an increasing portion, a flat peak portion, and a decreasing portion, and a circuit for measuring a characteristic of the solar panel when the signal reaches the flat peak portion.

  • Publication number: 20090261802
Abstract: A simulator system for simulating operation of a solar module comprises a frame for holding the solar module in a testing position, a light source positioned adjacent to the solar module for directing light from the light source to the solar module, and a movable assembly for simulating movement of a solar tracker system, wherein the movable assembly moves in two axes to change an incident angle of the light with respect to the testing position of the solar module.
