Abstract: A heat pump system for providing water heating and air conditioning, comprising one or more compressors for circulating a refrigerant in the system, a hot water tank having a heat exchanger for heating and storing the hot water, an outdoor heat exchanger and a fan for rejecting or extracting heat to or from the outdoor environment in air cooling, or water heating and/or air heating modes of operation respectively, an indoor heat exchanger with a fan for conditioning and supplying air to an indoor space. The system is particularly suitable in applications which require water heating and house cooling all year round. The system may also be adapted to other situations such as year-round water heating with seasonal air cooling, or year-round water heating with seasonal air cooling and heating, etc., and used for different applications, e.g., space heating and cooling simultaneously.

Abstract: This invention relates to a water heater comprising a water tank (1) having a wall (2) formed from material having heat transfer properties and a cold water inlet (5) adjacent one end of the tank. A tube (8), adapted to carry a refrigerant fluid, is secured externally about the tank wall (2). Heat-conductive material is provided along the length of the tube, with the tube and the heat-conductive material in heat-conductive contact with the external surface of the wall of the tank to transfer heat from condensation of the refrigerant fluid in the tube through the wall to the water contained in the tank (1). An evaporator (15) is positioned so as to be exposed to ambient conditions for absorbing heat energy from the ambient conditions. The evaporator is provided with a passage for carrying the refrigerant fluid whereby the fluid may be heated by the ambient conditions.

Abstract: A data input glove including a gloved body at least some of whose fingertip portions have conductive fingertip pad elements thereon, operatively connected to an output connector, and at least one conductive palm pad positioned on a palm portion of the gloved body and operatively connected to an output connector, wherein contact between a finger pad and a palm pad generates a signal. The signal may be processed by computer processor to provide a desired output, e.g., synthesized speech or other analogue or digital output in a suitable medium. The data glove is useful for inputting data in a covert manner, as well as communicationally enabling disabled persons with the aid of a computer, such as a handheld, wearable, or desktop computer.
