Patent number: 9498105Abstract: A traction-enhancing cleaning kit for allowing sports players to clean and dry the soles of their court shoes while in-play. The cleaning kit comprises a gellified shoe cleaning fluid, and a shoe-attachable cleaning and drying device comprising a gel-absorbent cleaning/drying cartridge removably secured by a clipping mechanism to a carrier platform, which is in turn secured along the forefoot of the sneaker by its laces. The cartridge includes an encapsulated viscose rayon microfiber panel backed by a moisture-impermeable layer, and held captive in a plastic frame. The frame includes a raised wiping lip surrounding the panel. In use, the player need only swipe one foot over the top of the cleaning and drying device attached to the other foot, brushing the sole. One swipe wets and squeegees dry, and the process is repeated for the other foot.Type: GrantFiled: May 19, 2015Date of Patent: November 22, 2016Inventors: Steve McLaughlin, Seth McLaughlin

Patent number: 9032583Abstract: A traction-enhancing cleaning kit for allowing sports players to clean and dry the soles of their court shoes while in-play. The cleaning kit comprises a gellified shoe cleaning fluid (3), and a shoe-attachable cleaning and drying device (1) comprising a gel-absorbent cleaning/drying cartridge (2) removably secured by hook-and-loop to a carrier platform (4), which is in turn secured along the forefoot of the sneaker by its laces. The cartridge (2) includes an encapsulated viscose rayon microfiber panel (20) backed by a moisture-impermeable layer (30), and held captive in a plastic frame (10). The frame (10) includes a raised wiping lip (114) surrounding the panel (20). In use, the player need only swipe one foot over the top of the cleaning and drying device (1) attached to the other foot, brushing the sole. One swipe wets and squeegees dry, and the process is repeated for the other foot.Type: GrantFiled: April 26, 2012Date of Patent: May 19, 2015Inventors: Steve McLaughlin, Seth McLaughlin

Patent number: 8416984Abstract: A method for generating an electronic dental chart for a patient, executed at least in part by a host processor, obtains image data for each of a number of teeth of the patient and generates a template dental chart for the patient that represents the position of each imaged tooth with a symbol according to the obtained image data. The template dental chart for each imaged tooth symbol is populated to form the electronic dental chart by associating the obtained image data to the corresponding symbol in the template dental chart for the imaged tooth, analyzing the obtained image data to identify a condition of the imaged tooth, associating at least the identified condition with the symbol for the imaged tooth, and displaying the populated electronic dental chart, wherein the displayed electronic dental chart provides a visual indication of the identified condition.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 2011Date of Patent: April 9, 2013Assignee: Carestream Health, Inc.Inventors: Rongguang Liang, Jean Marc Inglese, Edward R. Shellard, Larry A. Greenspan, Mark Woodman, Steve Mclaughlin

Patent number: 8045639Abstract: Provided is a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) data transmission method. A transmitter generates a transmission symbol by adding a parity symbol to a predetermined number of data symbols, generates a preprocessed symbol by multiplying the predetermined number of transmission symbols by a preprocessing matrix in units of blocks, selects a transmission antenna associated with a non-zero transmission symbol among preprocessed transmission symbols constituting the preprocessed symbol, and transmits the preprocessed symbol via the selected transmission antenna. A receiver receives a signal transmitted from the transmitter, estimates a preprocessed symbol and a transmission antenna index from the received signal, and restores the transmission symbols using the estimated preprocessed symbol and transmission antenna index.Type: GrantFiled: July 6, 2006Date of Patent: October 25, 2011Assignees: Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., The University Court of The University of Edinburgh Old CollegeInventors: Yeon-Woo Lee, Sang-Boh Yun, Harald Haas, Raed Mesleh, Steve McLaughlin
