  • Patent number: 10015683
Abstract: A system for optimizing communications on a plurality of wireless local area networks (WLAN)s each supporting wireless communications between a wireless access point (WAP) node and associated station nodes. The system includes: a link aggregator, a link categorizer and a link protocol identifier. The link aggregator is configured to aggregate information about communication links across all the WLANs including communication parameters associated with each link. The link categorizer is coupled to the link aggregator and configured to categorize the aggregated communication links by at least the station type associated therewith. The link protocol identifier is coupled to the link categorizer, and configured to identify any variations in the communication parameters utilized by the various WLANs for communication links with stations of a selected type, and further to identify any such variations in the communication parameters associated with relatively higher throughput to the stations of the selected type.

  • Patent number: 9717014
Abstract: A traffic management system for managing communication traffic on wireless local area networks (WLAN)s. The traffic management system comprises: a traffic aggregator and a traffic prioritizer. The traffic aggregator is configured to aggregate traffic management parameters from neighboring ones of the WLANs which share a selected communication channel with one another for communication links between their associated wireless access point (WAP) node and station nodes. The traffic prioritizer is coupled to the traffic aggregator and configured to prioritize the communication traffic of the neighboring ones of the WLANs using the aggregated traffic management parameters; thereby avoiding impediments to high priority communication traffic on a one of the neighboring networks resulting from a lack of prioritization coordination with an other of the neighboring networks.

  • Patent number: 9380604
Abstract: A wireless transceiver apparatus configured to support wireless communications with transceiver nodes on a wireless local area network (WLAN). The wireless transceiver apparatus includes: transmit and receive path components and an opportunistic link controller. The opportunistic link controller includes: a carrier sensor module, a dominant link identifier module, and a concurrent link selector module. The carrier sensor module senses availability of the selected communication channel. The dominant link identifier module is responsive to a determination of carrier unavailability by the carrier sensor module and configured to identify carrier unavailability arising from a remote link on a neighboring WLAN. The concurrent link selector module is responsive to the identification of carrier unavailability arising from the remote link and configured to transmit a concurrent communication link to a corresponding one of the transceiver nodes on the associated WLAN which avoids interference with the remote link.

  • Patent number: 8750157
Abstract: A diagnostic apparatus including a signal analyzer and a throughput projector for diagnosing a wireless home network. The signal analyzer analyzes wireless communication parameters at identifiable locations within a coverage area associated with the wireless home network. The throughput projector projects wireless throughput levels for at least one proposed wireless device differing in communication capabilities from the diagnostic apparatus at each of the identifiable locations, based on the communication parameters analyzed by the signal analyzer together with parameters which identify relative differences in communication capabilities of the diagnostic apparatus and the at least one proposed wireless device.

  • Patent number: 8128461
Abstract: Chemical-mechanical polishing or planarization (CMP) is enhanced with multi-zone slurry delivery. A polishing pad is provided that contacts with the work piece, and a multi-zone platen is displaced proximate to the polishing pad to facilitate slurry delivery. The platen includes multiple fluid distribution layers that each include a fluid-distributing channel extending from a fluid source to a distribution point on layer. The distribution points on each of the fluid distribution layers correspond to different locations on the polishing surface to thereby create multiple fluid-delivery zones on the pad.
