  • Patent number: 5556256
Abstract: An electrical fan having a positioning mechanism, driven by the rotation of the fan's motor, which causes the fan's head to simultaneously pivot sinusoidally and continuously about a pair of perpendicular axes to continuously redirect the airstream from the fan in a conical pattern.

  • Patent number: 5525107
Abstract: An electrical window fan comprising a reversible motor driven air blower assembly and a housing having intake and exhaust openings and a rectangular duct with an internal minor width smaller than the major diameter of the blower, the duct being adapted to extend through a window opening and for hanging the fan over the stool cap of the window such that most of the fan is positioned indoor of and below the window opening.

  • Patent number: 5458462
Abstract: A swivel mechanism for the electrical fan having the motor used to drive the blade of the electrical fan is used to control the swiveling movement. The controlling elements generally includes an U-shape supporting bracket, a positioning post and a connecting mechanism which is disposed between the output shaft and the positioning post. The motor is supported by an U-shape supporting bracket and the U-shape supporting bracket includes a pair of legs which can be connected to the rear housing by a pair of screws. Accordingly, the motor is capable of pitching upward and downward by the help of the screws. The lower end of the U-shape supporting bracket is rotatably mounted onto a positioning post, accordingly, the supporting bracket being capable of swiveling thereof.

  • Patent number: 5414794
Abstract: A structure for the heating device in a heater fan which can be manufactured quickly and easily and is standardized for mass production consists of a mount which in turn has a rear mesh disk which is separated from a rear casing of the device. The structure is used to replace the metal bracket of a conventional heater fan to secure a plurality of a heat insulating plates, electric heating coil structure and wiring to form an independent heating device structure. The heat insulating plates and rear mesh disk and the rear casing of the heater fan are configured to be assembled quickly and the rear mesh plate is standardized to be adapted to different models of the heater fan.

  • Patent number: 5373580
Abstract: A cooler-heater fan which differs from a conventional heater fan in that the air flow can be delivered in a slanted direction is described. The structure includes a heating apparatus, a fan motor and a fan blade assembly which are housed in a fan body, so that said fan body and the main body of the fan are separate structures. A tilt switch for safety shutdown is provided inside the main body. A spindle is provided in a tilted position protruding from the fan body. A spindle opening is provided in the main body to accommodate the spindle so that the latter can rotate therein. When the fan body is rotated to a slanted position to deliver the air flow, the main body stays upright, and the safety feature of the tilted switch is not affected. A hoop is also provided to secure the fan body. The hoop is made of a resilient metal wire and is used to secure the mounting of the fan body and allow a user to adjust the position of the fan body manually.

  • Patent number: 5278936
Abstract: An electrically-powered portable space heater of the type having one or more vertically extending fin-tube heating elements disposed within an elongated housing has a selectively adjustable temperature controller responsive to a signal from an upwardly extending thermistor externally pivotally mounted on the rear of the heater housing for movement from a storage position behind the housing to an upraised operative position, thermistor also being used to supply a room temperature signal to an ambient temperature display device on the heater housing. Furthermore, the heater includes a selectively actuable energy saving feature which, when actuated, automatically reduces by 5 degrees F. after a period of one hour the temperature to which the heater has been pre-set by the operator.

  • Patent number: 5239610
Abstract: An electric heating assembly adapted to be mounted onto and plugged into a wall-mounted electrical outlet includes a heating unit having a plug member an a back wall, thereof which is directly mateable with a power receptacle of the electrical outlet. The heating assembly also includes a mounting clip for securely coupling the heating unit to the electrical outlet so that the heating unit will not become inadvertently disengaged therefrom. The mounting clip includes a generally rectangular base portion securable to the outlet plate of the electrical outlet with the screw used to mount the outlet plate. The mounting clip also includes a pair of legs which extend away from the base portion and which mate with a pair of holes formed in the back wall of the heating unit above the plug member.
