  • Patent number: 8040794
Abstract: The subject application is directed to a system and method for rapid switching between anycast multicast sources. Multiple streams of data are received by a server. The server associates a separate source address to each of the received streams and sources the multiple streams of data with the associated addresses to a recipient. The server determines whether each of the multiple streams of data is up or down.
