A fluid access structure provides a fluid access region to a selected subset of sample wells from an array of sample wells. A fluid introduction mechanism introduces a sample fluid to the fluid access region so that the sample wells in the selected subset are populated with the sample fluid without the unselected sample wells being populated with the sample fluid.

Abstract: A ramp deployment system for securing a mobile ramp arrangement including a first ramp and a second ramp to the entrance of a trailer using a ratchet strap mechanism is disclosed. The ratchet strap mechanism includes a first ratchet strap that is secured between the first ramp and the trailer and a second ratchet strap that is secured between the second ramp and the trailer when the ratchet strap mechanism is actuated such that the mobile ramp arrangement is sufficiently secured to the trailer to support the weight of a utility vehicle that is accessing the trailer.

Abstract: An artificial heart for use in a human recipient includes a housing within which a quartet of turbine pump segments are operative. The quartet of turbine pump segments provides a redundancy which in turn enhances the safety factor provided by the artificial heart. A controller is powered by a rechargeable battery and is operative to apply appropriate drive signals to the motor drives of the turbine pump segments. The battery may be implanted along with the controller to avoid the need for any external connections to the artificial heart. An inductively coupled battery charger for use outside the recipient's body is positioned proximate the battery charger to provide inductively coupled charging for use in driving the artificial heart.

A fragmentation device is repeatedly switched between a fragmentation mode of operation and a non-fragmentation mode of operation. A determination is made whether a candidate parent ion of interest is present in a non-fragmentation data set and whether one or more corresponding fragment ions of interest are present in a fragmentation data set. A further determination is made to check if the candidate parent ion of interest and the one or more corresponding fragment ions of interest have substantially similar elution or retention times and/or ion mobility drift times.

Abstract: Used industrial equipment sales systems and related apparatus and methods. Servers of embodiments store files of information regarding conditions of pieces of used industrial equipment. That information further comprises an inspection report configured to reflect the type of industrial equipment to which the piece of used industrial equipment belongs and to reflect predetermined components associated with the equipment type. Note that client devices are configured to access the file, ascertain the equipment type, and display the report. Inspection reports can include voice notes and multimedia files. Moreover, the reports can be location and/or time stamped. If desired, the client devices can indicate a service status of a piece of equipment wherein the inspection reports remain private while the service status is incomplete. More particularly, an optical projection system having an optical offset of greater than 100% is comprised within a projector housing having an outer dome comprised of an optically active material mounted onto an opening approximately coinciding with the optical projection system's exit pupil. The outer dome is configured to be decenterized from the exit pupil (e.g., the center of the dome is offset from the exit pupil in one or more of an x, y, and z direction) such that it provides optical correction to a projected image. Therefore, an outer dome is configured to provide protection to optical elements provided therein and improvement of projected image quality (e.g., reduced image distortion, reduced aberration).
