A thermoelectric “string” is described that may be woven or assembled into a variety of insulating panels such as seat cushions, mattresses, pillows, blankets, ceiling tiles, office partitions, under-desk panels, electronic enclosures, building walls, refrigerator walls, and heat conversion panels. The string contains spaced thermoelectric elements which are thermally and electrically connected to lengths of braided, meshed, stranded, foamed, or otherwise expandable and compressible conductor. The elements and a portion of compacted conductor are mounted within the insulating panel On the outsides of the panel, the conductor is expanded to provide a very large surface area of contact with air or other medium for heat absorption on the cold side and for heat dissipation on the hot side.

Abstract: Devices and methods are provided for eye and gaze tracking determination. In one embodiment, a method for compensating for movement of a wearable eye tracking device relative to a user's eye is provided that includes wearing a wearable device on a user's head such that one or more endo-cameras are positioned to acquire images of one or both of the user's eyes, and an exo-camera is positioned to acquire images of the user's surroundings; calculating the location of features in a user's eye that cannot be directly observed from images of the eye acquired by an endo-camera; and spatially transforming camera coordinate systems of the exo- and endo-cameras to place calculated eye features in a known location and alignment.

Abstract: A latch device is adapted for coupling a detachably a carrier to a stroller frame, and includes a latch tongue, a latch housing, and a locking member. The latch tongue is mounted on the stroller frame, and has a cam surface and an abutment surface. The latch housing is connected to the latch tongue and is coupled detachably to the carrier. The locking member is connected to the latch housing and includes a latch arm. The locking member is movable relative to the latch housing between a locked position, where the latch tongue is locked to the locking member, and an unlocked position, where the latch tongue is unlocked from the locking member and a slide block of the latch arm abuts against the abutment surface so as to maintain the locking member at the unlocked position. The slide block slides along the cam surface when the locking member is moved toward the unlocked position.

Abstract: According to aspects of the present disclosure, a crib includes a configurable side with an adjustable height. In a first mode of operation, the configurable side extends to a height that prevents a child from climbing over the side. In a second mode of operation, the configurable side retracts to a lower height that provides a person with easier access into the crib to attend to the child. In general, the configurable side enables multiple modes of operation that provide convenient access while maintaining safety. According to one embodiment, a crib assembly includes a moveable section, a fixed section, and a holding mechanism. The holding mechanism is configured to releasably hold the moveable section in a position relative to the fixed section. The moveable section includes a plurality of vertical supports that are disposed within a passageway of the fixed section.

Abstract: Markers of caloric restriction (CR) can be identified in a selected tissue by exposing an animal to CR conditions and selecting one or more genes differentially expressed in response to CR conditions in multiple subject groups. A candidate compound can be screened for likely ability to mimic the effects of CR when administered to an animal by comparing the tissue levels of expression products of the genes in animals treated with the candidate compound to those of animals subjected to CR.

The material characteristics may include one or more of the following material characteristics of the wood piece: growth ring thickness; grain angle deviation; clear wood density; knot location; knot density; knot type; knot size; location in the tree from which the wood piece was cut.
