  • Publication number: 20090054992
Abstract: An implant for use in ankle arthroplasty is provided. The implant includes a first member for cooperation with the tibia and a second member for cooperation with the talus. The second member is operably associated with the first member. The implant also includes a third member rigidly removably connectable to the second member. The third member includes a portion of the third member for attachment to the calcaneus. The third member is adapted to provide for a first position in the calcaneus when the third member is in a first relative position with respect to the second member and is adapted to provide for a second position in the calcaneus when the third member is in a second relative position with respect to the second member.

  • Publication number: 20080020392
Abstract: Methods are provided for determining the sequence of a polynucleotide by tracking the motion of a nucleotide-selective, processive enzyme along a template, in a reaction mixture that alters the enzyme movement in a base specific manner. The movement trace of the enzyme is collected, and arranged in temporal order. The enzyme movement traces are correlated with the reaction conditions, and from these characteristic signals, the nucleotide sequence is derived.

  • Publication number: 20050146479
Abstract: A vertically integrated Ka-band active electronically scanned antenna including, among other things, a transitioning RF waveguide relocator panel located behind a radiator faceplate and an array of beam control tiles respectively coupled to one of a plurality of transceiver modules via an RF manifold. Each of the beam control tiles includes a respective plurality of high power transmit/receive (T/R) cells as well as dielectric waveguides, RF stripline and coaxial transmission line elements. The waveguide relocator panel is preferably fabricated by a diffusion bonded copper laminate stack up with dielectric filling. The beam control tiles are preferably fabricated by the use of multiple layers of low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) material laminated together.

  • Patent number: 6869447
Abstract: A modular prosthetic knee implant system includes a femoral component, a femoral stem, a femoral stem collar, an augment and a bolt. The modular prosthetic knee system can be assembled in different ways. If assembled without the augment, the stem is at a valgus angle. If assembled with the augment, the stem is at a neutral angle. The stem collar has an inferior surface that is angled with respect to its superior surface, and the augment has a superior surface that is angled with respect to its inferior surface. The components also include mating anti-rotation members to fix the relative positions of the members.

  • Patent number: 6699290
Abstract: A modular elbow prosthesis includes a humeral and ulnar components and three bearing components. The ulnar component includes a stem and a body including a slot. Two of the three bearing components include flanges that mate with the slot of the ulnar component. The humeral component includes a stem and two arms extending from one end of the stem. An opening is formed in each arm and in two of the three bearing components. The modular elbow may be used in an unconstrained mode by attaching one bearing component to the ulnar component and the other to the humeral component by inserting a pin through the openings in the arms and the bearing component. The two bearing components are then placed adjacent each other such that they articulate about their bearing surfaces.

  • Patent number: 6318593
Abstract: A simple and inexpensive container is constructed to dispense the contents of the container in predetermined, controlled amounts. Preferably, the container includes a reservoir that is adapted to hold a predetermined amount of material. The reservoir includes an opening through which the predetermined amount of material enters the reservoir. A flow tube is connected with the reservoir and communicates with a pour spout through which the material being dispensed exits the container. When the container is positioned upright, the predetermined amount of material fills the reservoir. When the container is turned upside down to dispense material from the container, only the material in the reservoir is able to flow into the flow tube and be dispensed from the container through the pour spout. The container is preferably formed from a two-dimensional blank, which is folded and secured to form the container. A method of forming the two-dimensional blank into the container is also disclosed.
