  • Patent number: 10552856
Abstract: According to various aspects of the subject technology, systems and methods for qualifying solar leads are described. In certain implementations, data about utility customers and/or other information are used to identify high-quality solar leads, thus reducing the amount of extraneous work for installers and resulting in an overall reduction of the total cost of solar implementations.

  • Patent number: 10055894
Abstract: A method is provided for markerless injection of content into an augmented reality scene by use of a mobile device. Through the mobile device, a camera feed of a scene is acquired, which includes a flat surface. A key frame of the flat surface is selected from the feed. After determining that the flat surface in the key frame meets a predetermined level of feature richness, digital content is injected by superimposing text, graphics, video content over at least a part of the key frame. The digital content can be viewed and interacted with by the user of the mobile device. In one embodiment, the digital content is an advertisement.

  • Publication number: 20170201808
Abstract: A method is provided for enabling enhanced viewing of a broadcast by a user through an augmented reality device. An application is provided on the augmented reality device which is programmed for acquiring a camera feed of at least a portion of a broadcast displayed on a display device, which includes an AR layer. The camera feed is displayed using the augmented reality device. The application recognizes in the AR layer of the acquired broadcast at least one watermark or image, accesses a database of such watermarks or images, and retrieves related data. The data or an associated virtual object is then rendered as an overlay of the displayed camera feed.

  • Publication number: 20170153787
Abstract: A method is provided for injecting a 3D virtual museum artifact in augmented reality space for interaction therewith by a user of a mobile device. Through the mobile device, a camera feed of a scene in a museum is acquired, which includes a flat surface. The mobile device selects a key frame of the flat surface from the feed. The mobile device determines that the flat surface in the key frame meets a predetermined level of feature richness. The mobile device accesses a 3D virtual museum artifact from a museum database, which had been previously acquired or extrapolated from an actual museum artifact in the collection of the museum. This is injected over at least a part of the key frame. The user is then allowed to interact with the 3D virtual museum artifact.

  • Publication number: 20170083952
Abstract: A method is provided for user interaction with a 3D virtual object in augmented reality space. The user has a mobile device. Through the mobile device, a camera feed of a scene is acquired, which includes a flat surface. The mobile device selects a key frame of the flat surface from the feed. The mobile device determines that the flat surface in the key frame meets a predetermined level of feature richness. The mobile device injects a 3D virtual object over at least a part of the key frame. The mobile device detects whether the user is relatively stationary or is in motion through at least one onboard sensor, and provides the user with distinct options for interaction with the 3D virtual object accordingly.

  • Publication number: 20070223668
Abstract: Inserting audio content into one or more communications channels includes associating audio content with one or more corresponding triggers. A communications channel is established with an initiating device and a host, and a communications channel is established with a recipient device and the host. Voice communications are enabled to be exchanged, through the host, between the initiating device and the recipient device. A dual tone multi-frequency (DTMF) indicative of a pressed key on the device keypad is received from the initiating device. The audio content associated with the received IDTMF is identified based on the associated audio content with one or more corresponding triggers. The audio content identified as associated with the received DTMF is accessed. The accessed audio content is inserted in the communications channel with the initiating device and the host and the communications channel with the recipient device and the host.

  • Publication number: 20050080743
Abstract: A method and apparatus is described that prevents viewing or other type of playback of unauthorized copies of media files, whether received through a network or retrieved from a magnetic or optical disc. The apparatus uses data in a metadata field that forms a part of the media files. Viewing or playback is allowed only if the data meets certain predetermined criteria. An apparatus is also provided that can be used to generate a new metadata field if a media file has a metadata field with unacceptable data.
