Publication number: 20220349989Abstract: A wideband direction finding (WBDF) aperture employs a limited number of extreme wideband end-fire antenna elements capable of covering a wide frequency bandwidth. Arranging variable sized antenna elements in a specific pattern, the WBDF aperture enables direction finding capability covering an extreme wide frequency band. The pattern arrangement of variable sized elements offers the signal discernment to limit ambiguities in signal angle of arrival. This small form factor design enables the WBDF aperture to be mounted on the surface of a missile, munition, or small UAS wing or fuselage. The WBDF aperture offers a combination of differing sized antenna elements arranged in a specific pattern, combined with direction finding and signal tracking to provide an unambiguous relative azimuth and elevation angle of the target.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 28, 2021Publication date: November 3, 2022Inventors: Joshua A. Whorf, Jacquelyn A. Vitaz, Steven Carson, Stephen Sekelsky, Chad Wangsvick

Patent number: 11229914Abstract: The present disclosure is generally related to an apparatus having cutter elements for destroying articles such as paper sheets and a mechanism for separating at least a sheet from a stack in a tray. The separation mechanism can be activated by rotation of the cutter elements. In one embodiment, the separation mechanism is provided in the form of a helical mechanism configured for insertion into the stack and to receive separated sheets from the stack in between its space(s) as it is rotated. The separated sheets can fall via gravity into the shredder mechanism. Optionally, a paper feed mechanism can feed separated paper to the cutter elements. The tray can include an edge to assist in directing separated paper towards the cutter elements. One or more staple picking support mechanisms can also be provided to assist in separating sheets from a stapled set of pages.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 2019Date of Patent: January 25, 2022Assignee: FELLOWES, INC.Inventors: Steven Carson, Tai Hoon K. Patent number: 7936711Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for extending the coverage area and communication capacity of a spread-spectrum based wireless network through the use of intelligent repeaters. The system comprises a wireless communication network augmented with low cost channel selective repeaters that is capable of repeating only desired signals, thereby suppressing undesirable interference and increasing network capacity. The repeaters can be integrated into an existing wireless network with minimal impact to the existing network layer topology or control structure.Type: GrantFiled: November 28, 2005Date of Patent: May 3, 2011Assignee: Science Applications International CorporationInventors: Daniel B. Kilfoyle, Travis H. Slocumb, III, Steven Carson

Publication number: 20100228621Abstract: A method of using a digital content display frame around a flat panel television that allows advertisers to use the attention-capturing power of television to reach a targeted demographic with content rich, high definition media in any location where a flat panel television is, or could be, located. Dynamic digital content is displayed on the centrally-located flat panel television, including plasma and LCD televisions, and/or on any combination of the display panels in the frame around it, which preferably comprises four panels in a rectangular configuration, but is not limited thereto. Digital content on any of the display panels can be independent or unified with any other panel, and/or the television. Content management of the displayed digital content can be remotely accomplished via one or more web interfaces, as well as locally via on-board USB, Cat5 wiring, firewire-type technology, and/or other means allowing quick upload of local content.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 12, 2009Publication date: September 9, 2010Inventors: Howard Richard Hochhalter, Sean Preston Thorp, Mark Steven Carson

Publication number: 20090275529Abstract: A method of reducing the increased risk of cardiovascular events attendant with the use of COX or selective COX-2 inhibitors including restoring disrupted cholesterol metabolic function engendered by the use of the COX or selective COX-2 inhibitors and reducing the production of foam cells caused thereby. The disrupted cholesterol metabolic function is restored and the production of foam cells is reduced by the step of administering an adenosine A2A receptor agonist having a threshold level of activity of 0.1 ?M to a patient using the COX or COX-2 inhibitor. The adenosine A2A receptor agonist is administered orally in amounts sufficient to saturate the A2A receptor and at time intervals sufficient to maintain the restored cholesterol metabolic function.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 5, 2009Publication date: November 5, 2009Inventors: Allison B. Reiss, Steven Carsons
