  • Patent number: 9606343
Abstract: A method for utilizing a multi-beam confocal scanning system to generate an image of a sample, the image having an improved resolution, is provided. An array of beams may be positioned at a first location on the sample. A first plurality of images may be captured, where each of the first plurality of images is associated with a beam of the array of beams at the first location. The array of beams may be adjusted by a specific distance to a second location on the sample, the specific distance being smaller than an optical resolution limit of the multi-beam confocal scanning system. A second plurality of images may be captured, where each of the second plurality of images is associated with a beam of the array of beams at the second location.

  • Patent number: 8338566
Abstract: In this application is described the characterization Borrelia burgdorferi lipoprotein BBK07, an in vivo expressed and surface-exposed immunogen. BBK07 expression in the infected hose can be detected at the RNA and protein level as early as the first week of infection. Therefore, described is the use of BBK07 antigen and immunogenic epitopes as well as bbk07 nucleotides in methods and kits for the diagnosis of Lyme disease.

  • Patent number: 7827786
Abstract: An improved seal assembly is provided that minimizes loss of transmission pump pressure by controlling fluid flow past a torque converter hub bushing to meet bushing lubrication requirements without unnecessarily diminishing pump pressure and while also minimizing frictional losses. The seal assembly includes a rigid carrier adapted to fit between a pump body member and the torque converter hub. An elastomeric lip extends from the rigid carrier. A contact layer is connected to the elastomeric lip and configured to sealingly contact the torque converter hub. The contact layer is integral with and harder than the elastomeric lip, therefore minimizing frictional losses.

  • Patent number: 7766126
Abstract: An integral stand tube for regulating fluid level within a transmission is provided. The stand tube includes an upper opening, at least one lower opening, and an internal volume defined by at least one internal passage for directing fluid from a valve body-side of a transmission to a main sump located on a gear-side of the transmission. The lower opening is operatively connected to a thermal valve assembly and a fluid passage formed in the transmission case between the auxiliary sump of the valve body-side and the main sump of the gear-side. Fluid passing from auxiliary sump to main sump bypasses dynamic transmission components to thereby minimize fluid aeration due to contact therebetween.
