  • Patent number: 8637146
Abstract: A multilayer composite film includes in sequence: a) a biaxially oriented, opaque polyester base layer; b) a non-voided polyester layer on and coextensively in contact with a surface of the base layer; and c) a metal layer on a surface of the non-voided polyester layer opposite the opaque polyester base layer, or on a primer layer on a surface of the non-voided polyester layer opposite the opaque polyester base layer. The film may be prepared by vapor depositing or plasma depositing a metal layer on a surface of a non-voided polyester layer coextensively contacting a biaxially oriented, opaque polyester base layer, or on a primer layer on a surface the non-voided polyester layer.

  • Patent number: 8435547
Abstract: A skin care composition is useful for augmenting cellular metabolism in skin cells and thereby enhancing the regulation of intracellular signaling. The composition comprises a primer for skin cell mitochondrial function, such as a Krebs cycle intermediate, a precursor of a Krebs cycle intermediate, salts or esters thereof, or combinations thereof. The composition may also include antioxidants for free radical regulation and a pharmaceutically acceptable topical vehicle, such as an emollient base for skin health. A method for stimulating the mitochondrial activity of skin cells comprises administering to the skin of a person in need thereof a composition as described herein.

  • Publication number: 20070199647
Abstract: An insulating label stock including a thermal insulating layer, which may be a fiberfill batt, is provided. The batt is laminated to at least one layer of film, paper, or fabric. Also provided is a method of making insulating label stock. The insulating label stock may be wrapped around a container, such as a can, bottle, or pouch. Further, the insulating label stock may be coated with a coating material so that it is printable, thus imparting both insulating properties and print capability to a container.

  • Publication number: 20060127463
Abstract: A composite structure suitable for making transdermal delivery devices includes in sequence: (a) a liner film layer; (b) a containment layer having from zero to 15 wt % content of vinyl acetate repeating units, the layer including either a thermal bonding copolyester resin or a combination of an ethylene-vinyl acetate component and a nonpolar polymer; and (c) a polyester film layer less than 20 ?m in thickness. A drug layer lies either between the liner film layer and the containment layer or within a concave depression in the containment layer. A composition including an ethylene-vinyl acetate component and an ABA block copolymer, wherein the A segments of the block copolymer are styrenic segments, is also provided. The composition includes between 1 and 15 wt % of vinyl acetate repeating units, based on the total weight of composition exclusive of any solvents.
