  • Publication number: 20240139413
Abstract: A method of making a needle guard includes providing a mold having a portion defining a volume, the volume being a hollow cylinder with non-uniform walls with a pair of slots therein, the slots being open at one end and closed at the other end, the pair of slots having a major portion of constant width. The walls are thicker at the other end than at the one end. The method includes filling the volume with polymer and releasing a molded part from said mold and cooling a molded part resulting from the filling and releasing such that temperature that the widths of the pair of slots is non-uniform after cooling. The needle guard has upper and lower jaws defining a channel and coming together at a hinge. A winged needle can be inserted between the jaws, with the wings of the winged needle passing through slots between the jaws.

  • Patent number: 4351209
Abstract: A remote control bench mounted chain saw apparatus for cutting firewood, includes a chain saw device having handle, trigger, body and bar chain. Also included is a bench having a first support member with an interdigital slot, a second support member having a cooperating interdigital slot for mating with the first support member to form a cross, and a top member hingedly mounted on one of the support members on a side parallel to its slot, the top member being further adapted to detachably engage the other support member on a side parallel to its slot when the cross is formed to position the top member in a horizontal position. The top member includes means for restraining the handle and body of the chain saw and positioning the saw to permit access to the top of said bar and chain. Finally, remote control means are attached to the trigger of the saw and have an activator positioned remote from the saw and the top member for activation of the saw triggered by pressure applied to the activator.

  • Patent number: 4325609
Abstract: A two-way mirror device for vehicles, and particularly for use as a side view mirror on heavy duty and medium duty commercial transport vehicles. The device includes a frame for holding mirrors, including a mounting means for mounting the frame on a vehicle. A semi-transparent plane mirror is mounted in the frame and positioned to permit viewing through the mirror and reverse reflected off of the mirror. A semi-transparent convex mirror is mounted in the frame and positioned to permit viewing through the mirror and an enlarged field of view reverse reflected off of the convex mirror. Finally, transparent backing means are attached to the frame for holding the plane mirror and the convex mirror such that forward viewing through the mirrors is also through the backing means. In a preferred embodiment, the vertical axis of the convex mirror is independently adjustable with respect to the plane mirror axis.
