  • Publication number: 20070243844
Abstract: A flexible optical illumination system may be used to illuminate components or areas of an electronic device such as mobile and portable communication devices. The flexible lightguide may manipulate and channel light selectively throughout an electronic assembly providing illumination for selective areas or an entire device. The lightguide may further include various filters and components for modifying, detecting and processing light and characteristics thereof. A flexible lightguide may be created from numerous optically transparent materials and processes such as film lamination, adhesive binding and molding. The lightguide may be created by a process that combines the manufacturing and assembly of the lightguide with the manufacturing and assembly of other components of the device. The lightguide may further be integrated into various mechanical or electronic components.

  • Publication number: 20070215159
Abstract: The present invention provides for a breathing device comprising a reservoir bag, oxygen source, scrubber, and activation device. The oxygen source and an exit from the scrubber may be fluidly connected to the reservoir bag. The reservoir bag may be attached to a mouthpiece to provide inhalation air. Expired air may be exhaled through the mouthpiece and directed to an inlet for the scrubber. As a user breaths normally, expired air is scrubbed of undesired components, such as excess CO2. The scrubbed expired air is then mixed with generated oxygen, and delivered back to the user for inhalation. Additionally, the oxygen source and the scrubber may be replaced and/or replenished without interrupting or compromising a breathing cycle.

  • Publication number: 20070160506
Abstract: An apparatus is provided to generate a gas by mixing chemicals with water. Typically, the production of gas, particularly oxygen, by combining water with powders and other dry chemicals has not been widely employed. There have existed a number of preexisting barriers such as undesirable flow rates and yields. However, by utilizing multiple reaction chambers the flow rates and yields can be more precisely tailored for a variety of situations that may call for particular flow rates and yields. Additionally, the use of the dry chemicals would allow for a long self-life allowing the apparatus to be particularly useful in emergency situations.

  • Publication number: 20070144455
Abstract: A device generates liquid vapor mixed with oxygen rich gas for use in skin care, facial treatments and other dermatological applications and tissue treatments. The device consists of a portable vapor generator and an oxygen source. The oxygen source can be a portable source such as a compressed tank, a catalytic oxygen generator, an oxygen concentrator and the like.

  • Publication number: 20070080925
Abstract: Low power consumption display devices are disclosed. Phoactive layers are utilized that both respond to electrical energy to allow a display device to display information and that generate electrical energy in response to incident radiation. Display pixels of a single display device may be divided displaying and generating pixels. The displaying pixels may display information and the generating pixels may generate electrical energy. The generated electrical energy may be used to provide power to drive an image.

  • Publication number: 20060248713
Abstract: A method is provided for manufacturing an electronically functional structural component adapted to integrate a plurality of electronic functions into a laminate cover, layer, and/or laminate component, for protecting, supporting, and/or forming a complete electronic device (such as a multimedia device). The method includes laminating a plurality of structural and/or protective layers interspersed with electronically functional layers or electronic components in communication with the multimedia device to form a supportive and electronically functional layer, cover, protective layer, and/or electronic device. Thus, the manufacturing methods provided allow for the cost-effective addition of thin and lightweight functional, protective, and/or decorative layers to a multimedia device or other electronic device at a sales location or other customization location.

  • Publication number: 20020162679
Abstract: Surface mount packages having pre-applied underfill thereon and methods of fabricating and using such packages are provided. Supplying customers with packages having pre-applied underfill enhances the thermal and mechanical reliability of surface mount packages and also, mitigates the customers' needs for additional cost, tooling, man-power, and process operations relating to the application and curing of underfill material.
