Abstract: An information display shelter includes at least a canopy, a supporting structure, a receiving device, and a signaling path. The canopy includes a display area on at least one surface thereof. The supporting structure is connected to and supports the canopy over a sheltered area defined by a width and a length of a parking space. The supporting structure is configured so as to permit substantially unobstructed access to the sheltered area and viewing of the display area. The receiving device is operable to receive and process a signal including images to be displayed. The signaling path couples the receiving device to the canopy and facilitates communication of the images to the canopy for display in the display area.

The shelter includes a canopy which defines a sheltered area, a photovoltaic device capable of producing an electrical current when exposed to a light source (sunlight or artificial light), and a supporting structure to support the canopy and permit unobstructed access to the sheltered area. An electrical load is operatively connected to the photovoltaic device for utilizing the electricity generated by the photovoltaic device when the photovoltaic device is exposed to light. The shelter is well-suited to protect vehicles in large parking lots from the sun and other elements while simultaneously providing an alternate energy source.

Abstract: A marine heave compensating device comprises a hydraulic piston and cylinder unit (15,16) with its cylinder (15) secured to a support (10,11). The piston is connected via a piston rod (16) to a cross-head (17) on which a first set of pulleys (18) are rotatably mounted. Chains (19) secured at one end to the support (10,11) are entrained around pulleys (18) and support a yoke (20) on which is mounted a crown block (21). A cable (22) is reeved around crown block (21) and around a travelling block (23) which carries a tool carrier (24). The two ends of cable (22) are reeved around two second pulleys (26A,26B) rotatably mounted on the cross-head (17). End (22A) of cable (22) is connected to a draw-works and end (22B) of cable (22) is connected to a tie-down.
