  • Patent number: 11221618
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, systems, and implementations of an HMI control system for BOP rigs are disclosed. At least some versions of the disclosed systems enable a user to configure interface settings, perform actions on a BOP stack, view diagnostics, perform testing, and observe and rectify alarms. The disclosed systems may enable a user to more efficiently navigate between different interfaces and perform HMI functions due to a control zone configuration. Additionally, the control zone configuration may reduce operator error by assigning certain control zones to particular functions and requiring the user to take affirmative steps to perform destructive functions.

  • Patent number: 9350366
Abstract: A loop filter for a phase locked loop (PLL) having fast tuning capability while limiting phase noise. The filter includes a fine tune input port to receive a fine tune signal from the phase detector and a coarse tune input port to receive a coarse tune signal from the coarse tuner. The external coarse tuner provides the majority of the voltage slew on the loop filter while a fine tune control, thus reducing tune time. In one embodiment, the loop filter includes a voltage divider to limit the effective tuning sensitivity and thus control noise induced on a voltage-controlled oscillator from the loop filter. An elliptical filter may be employed to attenuate fractional spurs within the filter output signal.

  • Publication number: 20070150620
Abstract: A system, apparatus and a method are described that synchronizes multiple element management systems with a network element. The synchronization between the management entities within the element is maintained by employing special attributes, such as sentry identification for managed objects and guard attributes for managed object tables. Using these attributes, resynchronization between the management systems is improved by reducing the amount of data retrieved by the systems and reducing the processing load caused by the resynchronization process.

  • Publication number: 20070100887
Abstract: A system, apparatus and method are described for displaying multiple attributes relative to objects in a network management program. In one embodiment, multiple attributes from a plurality of different standards are coalesced together and the coalesced attributes are displayed by a user interface. These coalesced attributes may be shown in such a manner so that inconsistencies between attributes of objects from different standards are reduced or obviated.

  • Publication number: 20070092197
Abstract: Optical autodiscovery is provide between two optical modules to insure that when an optical signal is coupled between the two optical module, the optical signal from a first module does not interfere with operation of a second module. The autodiscovery is implemented by sending an optical identification signal from the first optical module via the coupling to the second optical module from which signal, the second optical module can verify and determined acceptance of the coupled first optical module. During this autodiscovery process, the optical identification signal from the first optical module may be attenuated or shifted in optical spectrum so as not to interfere with the operation of the second optical module. Autodiscovery may also be employed in cases where a first optical module is to receive an optical signal from a second module.

  • Publication number: 20050084481
Abstract: A method is disclosed for reliably stabilizing eukaryotic cells that express the P2X7 receptor channel, particularly mammalian and other vertebrate cells, including human cells, for example mammalian macrophages, or hematopoietic stem cells, in order to introduce otherwise membrane-impermeable compounds that are helpful for stabilizing the cells during drying, chilling, freezing, freeze-drying, or cryopreservation. The cells are exposed to extracellular ATP in concentration sufficient to open pores in the plasma membrane. One or more otherwise membrane-impermeable compounds that aid the survivorship of cells are then introduced, for example, trehalose, and after a brief time the pores are closed—for example, by adding divalent cations, or by diluting the extracellular solution. Once the trehalose or other stabilizing compound has been introduced, the cells may be stably preserved. By taking advantage of an endogenous mammalian receptor and ATP, no antigenic compounds need be introduced.
