  • Patent number: 9428336
Abstract: A robotic storage and retrieval system is provided. The robotic storage and retrieval system may include a three-dimensional storage rack, a set of article holders, and a robot. In one embodiment, the storage rack has a plurality of rows, a plurality of columns, and one or more support members at each unique row and column position. Each set of article holders is located at one of the unique row and column positions, and each article holder within a set is vertically supported by the one or more support members. The robot is configured to store the article holders to the storage rack and to retrieve the article holders from the storage rack.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 28, 2011
Date of Patent: August 30, 2016
    Assignee: PaR Systems, Inc.
Inventors: Daniel J. Hagen, Charles E. Ridley, Steven J. Austin, Thomas E. Jung, Chad Stiernagle

  • Patent number: 5427564
Abstract: Relates to the automatic operation and control of a surface treating device having a powered tool and a work wheel for engagement with a work piece, said device being carried on a robotic arm and being adapted to maintain a uniform pressure of engagement of said work wheel with a work piece and a uniform rate of speed of the working surface of said work wheel in its engagement with the work piece, and a balancing pressure applied to said powered tool and work wheel to in effect make them weightless for their precise control.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 2, 1993
Date of Patent: June 27, 1995

  • Patent number: 5372567
Abstract: A segmented tool rack having a plurality of individual bays to retain tool heads for an automated selection by a robotic arm, the tool heads being positively locked in the tool rack and upon selection by a robotic arm, the tool head remains in locked position until locked-onto the robotic arm at which time it is unlocked from the tool rack avoiding the possibility of an accidental dropping of a tool head and further, the tool head remains locked in position on said rack in the event of a loss of power.
